Funny thing, I'm going to the Falcons vs. Eagles game later in the season. That is gonna be one heck of a circus.

It will be interesting to see how the Eagles use him. Do you think this will be the start of the "Wild Cat" formation in Philly?

I'm a die hard New York fan, and it looks like neither will take the championship this year.
With Burress out, the Giants are going to find a hard time getting a WR that can work with Manning so damn well.
Jets lost Favre, although he really didn't do much for them anyway. Both teams drafts look OK, but not promising at all.
So, we'll see come season time. As it stands; I'm thinking the Colts will take it.
Yea, I said it.

Okay...Michael Vick lands amid the nastiest, rudest fans in pro sports. This is going to be really ugly. And you know damned well the minute he gets on the field, someone is going to take it to him hard and aim to hurt him bad. And I'm going to cheer when that happens.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

At least he didn't go to the Browns (Dawgpound) that would have been sick irony.
I never liked Donovan McNabb, so now he has proper company.

Nah, seriously I love football season. I can't wait for regular season to start up!

The reviews have been very positive so far. Gonna trade my Madden 09 and NHL 09 in for it when I get the chance.

Jack Lambert. Now THERE was a football player. Same mold as Butkus. Tough as hell, no holds barred, left it on the field. These wusses nowadays have nothing on him.
Oh, and congrats on the Cup. It's an awesome trophy...got to hold it and see it up close in March while it was on tour. The benefits of working for a pro hockey team

Still means nothing. There have been teams that have gone 1-3 that went on to win the Superbowl, like the 2006 Colts. There have been teams that went 4-0 in the pre-season, like the 2008 Lions did and we all know how that turned out.
So yeah pre-season means nothing. Ok so it means football is back but you know what I mean.

Why the f**k are you 2 so negative??? I'm trying to enjoy my team's pre-season success, and you're pissing all over it. If you got nothing good to say, STFU!!!

Exactly. You might have cold blood against teams but don't start picking fights with fans of those teams. You'll get nothing but trouble, especially from me.
Uhh?? Were you even following what was going on? There was nothing moving and all that was left was Orton. And the trade wasn't even for Orton, it was for the draft picks. Regardless he's a piece of crap, and I wouldn't mind Simms behind the helm if Orton doesn't shape up.

I'm honestly not expecting much from Cutler this year for two reasons:
1. The Bears have zero wide receivers. We do have a running back that can catch the ball out of the backfield and a great young tight end, but that's it. Devon Hester is NOT a wide receiver.
2. Ron Turner is still the offensive coordinator for the Bears. You will see a plethora of three yard in routes on 3rd and long and every first down play will be a run off tackle. He has no imagination or talent, which is why he needs to go if the Bears are going anywhere anytime soon.
I'll be happy with a .500 record this year.

Well we'll see what happens. The Broncos could boil over, the Bears could, heck the Broncos could even face the Bears in the Super Bowl by all means. The league has so much parity that it's enjoyable to watch games in which the outcome is really just 50/50.

Re: NFL Thread 2009!!
Wow some people here have to calm down. I was simply stating a fact, no need to get defensive and rude about it, sheesh. I never said anything negative about the Titans or negative at all, unless you are a Lions fan. All I am talking about is how different things can be between pre-season and regular season. Heck look at how different things can turn out in post season.
Sorry some of you took offense but you should really lighting up a bit.

What a game last night. To end like it did was just kind of funny. So pre-season. I doubt that would happen in the reg. season.

No worries, we've all been there. Besides I may have been a bit bias since I'm in Tampa and all.
It's not like the Titans won't do well in the reg. season anyways. The Bucs...well that's another story.

I'm not. I figured it was a ploy to get out of training camp. What I am excited about is the chance that it gives Tavaris Jackson, or whoever the Vikings choose as their future QB assuming he is already on the team (John David Booty?), the chance to learn under a future HOF QB. That was something they really couldn't get with Brad Johnson or Gus Ferotte. That could really help them in the future. That is what I, in the long term, want them to get out of it.
In the short term, I suspect they will be one of the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. They already have a run stopping defense and an improved pass rush to help the pass defense. They have a stout offensive line, a great tight end, and probably the best RB in the NFL in Adrian Peterson. They have a decent WR corps with Berrian leading the way and a wild card in the 1st Round draft pick Harvin. Still not as great as the WR corps they had with Carter, Moss and Jake Reed, but it still pretty good. Thier one glaring weakness was at the most critical position in football, the QB slot. With Farve, they remidied that. Defenses can no longer stack the box against AD and try and stop him, daring T-Jack or Sage to beat them. Farve knows this system inside and out. They now have to resect the Vikes passing game which will leave a lot of opportunities for AD. Should be exciting to see what comes out of Minnesota this year.
Plus I get to mess with Packer fans even more. My future father-in-law is a big Packers fan.

Favre with Minnesota=Two wins for the Bears. He hasn't beaten Chicago in his last six tries. I'm all for it.
