I can't wait to get home and run Quickswitch though all of his modes, quite and impressive figure so far. I may be keeping QS as well. I wanted to bring him to work, but that's a lot of plastic, so I brought Fastlane and a few TMs instead.

That reminds me, still on the fence for Sixshot? Will it be Hanzo? Have you seen this?

I will agree that it was tricky and tough the first time. But I got used to it and it became simpler the ties after. I find the legs super interesting. They are such a small part of the vehicle and everything is packed together super tight, no space is wasted. Makes for an itneresting time unwinding it all.

So I got this fool on the stupid cheap today and I gots a few questions.











I haven't had a chance to TF him yet or really do much, but I noticed his right arm lacks the swivel his left arm has. Is there a missing feature from the OG mold?

Did the OG make sounds and such? I've found his chest plays tunes and speaks and while his chest is lit up I can press his head to make other sounds. Does he make even more sounds when TF'd?

The right arm is a power pnch gimick, like BB21 said. You wind it back and he punches.

As for the sounds, the way the original worked is that you first have to press on the chest. Then you can press in other areas for there to be dounds like:

the power punch gimmick mentioned above
deploying the jetpacks (which used to change in sound depending on how you handled the toy, like making him more vertical makes it sound like he is gaining altitude)
firing the disk
pressing his head (in both modes)

I hope that answers the questions!

@Beevis and Willipher - Thanks, guys. I figured out all the gimmicks out while transforming and playing with the beast.

Optimus Giagantor Primal is a really fun toy. I use the word toy over figure because of how it feels in hand. Most of my collection are TF figures that I enjoy transforming and posing where this OP is really fun to play with. In an unexpected turn of events, I prefer beast mode. I may have to dig out my giant McFarlane Cy-Gor to keep him company.

OP is big huge, heavy with very satisfying clicky joints. The clicks feel very nice during transformation. The guy makes sounds from all over. His chest, bot head, beast head, jet pack, disc launcher, punchy arm, hell he even has motion sounds when flying around.

Let's talk about this disc launcher. That was a surprise. It fires very well, is fun to use and goes pew pew. You can even fire in beast mode, sorta. Then he's got the old action figure stand by, the punch arm. It's a little goofy and limiys articulation, but I'll forgive them for the punch sound it makes. So many electronics!

I don't know why, but this big blue and red garish beastformer has had my eye since it was announced way back @ $140 I almost jumped when Amazon had him for like 20-30$ shipped but beasties aren't my bag. I'm glad I waited but I think I'd been happy with this nutso munky bot. At $6.50 I'm tickled pink. Optimus Primal is going make a good if not odd addition to my collection. I think I'm going give him another round of play while I sip my coffee this morning. Sometimes, crazy works

So I got the upgrade bug and picked up the SND Primo Vitalis upgrade for CW Opitmus Prime. I got that figure on clearance, already have a ton of better Primes (even though I do did like the CW flavor) and I have that mold better represented as Motormaster. So what's an IDW loving boy to do

Things pick up pretty quick from here. It was getting late, I was tired of posing bots after hammering out the two waist pins and the gag was starting to wear thin.


OP: Boxers not briefs

Not to shabby if I do say so myself. While the final product looks great, the flaws with the mold are still present. I haven't had the time to really dig into posability or transformation yet. From what I gather the transformation can be done with no removal of parts, but it still seems a little partsformery to me.

I want to order some new hip ratchets for Prime and my other torso bots. New hips would help a lot. The arms are untouched so no upgrades there. Holding weapons is still pretty limited. The waist swivel is super loose, which isn't to big of a problem. The thing that worries me the most is how tight the head is on the old combiner head's peg. The new head has some stress marks from popping it on and it's worryingly tight. I'm afraid I'm going break the peg, the head or more than likely the antennas.

Positives: Nice tall IDW like Prime legs that make the munky arms fit the frame. New ankle tilts that make a world of difference as this is now a heavy and big bot. There is a bit more backpack, but it looks better than the stock (which is still present) and the spoiler looks cool on his back. The new head, chest and shoulder pads makes the whole kit worth while though.

Overall I'm happy with the kit and would recommend it, but I would say that I'm not over-enthusiastic about it. You definitely end up with a much better toy by the end, but it's not a MP level bot. I got Prime for cheap so the total price tag fits a nice very low end of a 3P bot. If your interested, like the IDW look or build kits give it a shot
