More like thigh joints and I'd never have thought to look there. Gives a 90° bend, but at a weird angle. The "calf" still gets in the way. Give me a sec to snap a pic of Mega Man and some real double jointed knee action.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Backward yes, He can mooooooooooovecarytheone wrote:Double jointed as in the bend forward? In the meantime, here are some size comparisons of Bee for Cobotron. He asked about the size in another thread off site.

And weighs about 50g more than either MP.

I feel like this is an intentional option as the black square box just behind the bumper fits Bee ears perfectly. I also like how the faux chest hang down isn't as noticable from the side or front.
The coolest part is that this is possible without moving any other parts. It's easy to tuck or untuck the head while in alt mode.

I really like that MPM. He's pretty great. Transformation with the panels can get tricky, but I adore the robot mode.

I probably should have posted some before and after pics for those that don't have the figure or don't feel like fiddling with it.

You're right on the money, D! It's a really great, fun and attractive figure (both to the eyes and hands). One of the things I keep noticing is how beefy and strong it looks. Very happy with this figure. I said somewhere that I originally wish it was a bit smaller, but now I'm glad it's a big chunk of a figure. It just plain looks imposingly good posed on my desk. Highly recommend, especially at that Ross price

The mix in of diecast gives him some good heft too. He's not my favorite MPM, but he is definitely good.

Bee is a good figure period and made all the better with an excellent movie and design to support it. I don't even mind having the both the SS and MPM versions. They're each at the top of their respective class and they manage to deliver completely different yet somehow similar experiences.
Don't care for them, but don't hate them - so meh. I wish the headlights covered them better and pegged into them so they'd stop flapping up. I'd just like to ignore them easier. Did he use them in the movie? I don't even rememberWhat did you think of the boob missiles?

Speaking of bros, checkout the arm cannon brothers!
They do both have a great fashion sense for moon boots, don't they?

Transformed him and couldn't decide if I wanted an offset hood symbol or not. It didn't really look good or needed so I didn't stick it or take any pics.
For $15, this is not a "bad" MP scaled CJ. Bot mode is aight, transformation is a bit of a pain because of heavy ass diecast door panels, but alt mode looks good (if you can get the rear end to line up). Well at least I'm happy with the chest sticker, which looks surprisingly good in alt mode. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it and I'm sure as **** not transforming it back again

It's not "bad" and the transformation isn't tough, just unnecessarily annoying because of the two diecast door panels that are loosely hinged. They just keep falling in the way until tabbed. If they were plastic it's be a non issue and honestly with the hood being metal the panels don't need to be for bot stability.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Transformations make or break a figure for me in many cases, shame that one has a tough transformation, it doesn't look too bad
Alt mode is attractive with rubberish tires and bot mode does every thing MP Bee does. Execution feels a little amateur but really not bad. If I had paid more than $15 I'd be disappointed for sure.
Once in either mode the figure is tight and looks pretty good on the shelf. Can't say I'd recommend it without knowing it's flaws. I'm pretty sure there are better MP scaled CJs out there.

They make sweet mounts for the TMs/PMs.

I'm still glad I finished the set.

I basically got Fastlane for free, Cloudraker/Wingspan were discounted at Walgreens and Pounce was shipped around $12. Ultimately I'm meh across the board, but happy to have slots filled (but who wouldn't be).

A tall and sleek bot.

Has pew pews that can do things and such. I like them pegged onto the forearms.

Helicopter mode is cool and there are some interesting steps to get there. I read about different hip rotations on the Siege thread and while mine pegs fine either way, spinning the hip 180° does work better.

Either way you end up with this.

Nice little duo of 'Cons.

Hands down best feature of Spinister is the dance moves.

Robotime Rokr Mechanical Gears Treasure Box
Posted by no-one Fri Dec 27, 2019 11:35 am

Mrstheone got me a cool wooden mechanical puzzle treasure box for the mas of x. The build was really cool and involved with lots of moving parts. Easily took between 3-4 hours to build (my fingertips are raw feeling and sensitive today
Here's the finished product.

Three digit (user selectable) combination lock

Top storage, opens with a twist of the gear

Opens very much like a camera lens, or Unicron's maw

Removable keys to open the inner box

What treasures are hidden inside?

The internal box rises up as the doors open
Now I just need something to put inside, like a Zelda Boss key

Transformers Studio Series SS-51 Soundwave and Laserbeak
Posted by no-one Sun Jan 12, 2020 8:53 pm

I'm really digging this guy. He has an absolutely gorgeous paint job. Transormation is intuitively simple in a clever way. There are a couple neat tricks, but the clearance issues are holding it back. Articulation gets the job done and it's nice to finally have a movie Laserbeak. Mounting on the arm is cool and all, but for my money it's all about perching like a pirate's parrot. Fortunately, Laserbird pegs into the shoulder tires as if it was a design feature.
He's a little guy, but I dig that about him. I have a mega sized movie Soundwave, so it's fun to have a pocket sized ball of silver evil. He's just barely taller than SS Bee movie Bee.

You can see his silver tongued predecessor just towering over them all. He's a big boy and just dwarfs this newcomer.

Even though SS-51 pulls off the transformation tricks better leading to a superior proportioned bot, I still prefer the MtB figure. It just has an incredible amount of presence. Luckily for me, I'll always have room for more Soundwaves.
SS-51 Soundwave is a good figure and a worthy addition to the Studio Series line. There is an elegant simplicity to the transformation that is being held back by some clearance issues. The deco is absolutely beautiful even though is sparse on color. I think it's a great movie Soundwave, but the size is going to turn some people off.

Transformers Cyberverse Power of the Spark Sharkticon Gnaw
Posted by no-one Wed Jan 15, 2020 2:18 pm
So lets get on with it. Size comparisons.

Note the lack of hollowness in the Cyberverse figure, along with the hazardous to your hair tats.

I also thinks he pulls the sharktifrog mode off better.

The shark arms do not move and that's a bummer and some will be turned off by his mouth full of robot head, but all I see is spiky death tongue. The correct way is to leave the head as is, but it sits lower if rotated around, but leaves the mouth a little open. Both work though.
Correct

Incorrect

Either way it reminds me of this nightmare.
Enjoy your nightmares
Pick your poison and have a few other angles for your dangle.

Let's talk about that gimmick yo! You know the spinny rotaty torso thing! First off the robot legs peg into the body. I was confused at first but then realized they are for stability of the gimmick. Those may get nipped off.

The torso spins pretty freely, but if you pump his fin there is a geared mechanic. I also think you can lock his torso and wind a spring. It clicks something awful and I've only done it once.

Still pics aren't doing this justice.

Overall, cool figure.
