Thanks ;)^ I did have a lot of fun taking the pictures and the mace of all things may be my favorite. I'm especially happy with the pic of the loose chain.

Great shots! The sticker symbols don't look all that bad, not overly noticeable.

I love the Mace. Megatron needs a mace weapon more often

In person they look good, I just noticed the edges in high res images.

I agree, but maces are hard to pull off correctly at retail budgets (the recent sharkticon comes to mind). The chain feels impossibly fragile and the articulated version looks clunky and would add to the parts count and manufacturering cost. But yeah maces are cool and there's always the ones on the end of poles ;)^

Gimp but Mrstheone does in fact have full blown photoshop and light room. The latest gimp is very powerful and I learned a couple simple but useful things today. I also like to stay true to my cheap ass trailer born roots.

Thanks, I'll take the job! I do all her "shop" jobs (in gimp) and she actually gets paid for them; I get TFs

I picked up Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Shockwave yesterday and he is everything I wanted him to be.

Image

I love all the extra parts he comes with and have been having a blast with trying to find different variations of use. I mostly like "drone" mode. I imagine the drone follows Shockwave around like a puppy always ready to power up his master, but when all is quite he spends his time blasting cyber-roaches and what not in the lab.

Image

Can't say I much go for Hobgoblin mode, but here it is anyway.

Image

I don't take this **** too seriously and looked up a cheat code. Found big head mode!

Image

Back to the bits and pieces, I did find a neat way to use most of it as a jet pack. I mean you could use all of it in the same manner, but here's my take.

Image

And from behind.

Image

I love that little hose. I plug it in where ever Shockwave needs to redirect more power.

Might as well go crazy with super powered up psycho Shockwave!

Image

Other than the core robot my favorite mode is the combined mode, but I do a thing that's a little different with the wings. Makes it looks like one of those battle ship stages in the old 8/16 bit side scrolling shooters.

Image
Image
Image
Image

Why not go all in?

Image

Finally, I know there is a lot of complaints about his price point and size. I'm sure happy with the size, but I get the price complaints. When I first heard there was going to be a "leader" Shockwave I was bummed because the previous two line's leader class figures (with a few execptions) didn't scale with anything. I'm probably one of the few that like that the core robots were voyager sized. Reminds me a lot of the evolution leaders from PotP, only better. To me Shockwave is perfectly scaled and comes with a ton of fun bits and pieces. Oh, and that light piping, amiright :HALUC:

You know it's funny, I feel right. One more thing about the size class. I feel the alt mode is where the "leader sized" comes into play. That thing is huge, dense and heavy! I like it a lot, all of it :x

We were talking about the complaints from thebabydom fandom about this guy and I have this to offer.

If everybody would stop expecting Transformers to be what THEY want it to be, and just accept them for what they are, they'd have a hell of a lot more fun.

There is too much info and reviews out there to ever truly be disappointed in a Transformer. Unless you just got into this hobby yesterday you should only ever be disappointed in yourself for buying a figure without doing your homework. It's like people forget they have the option to not buy a thing. Like I won't be buying MP44 or the Siege leader Prime figure and quite frankly I like when there are things I don't want.

I'm the same way with games. I enjoy or not enjoy them for what there are, not for what they are not.

And Cobo and I talked about the leader price point on the last podcast! I think the consensus was we far enjoyed smaller, well done and denser figures on the whole if it fits!

Thanks! Worked on it for a while.

Well a little bit of both. It is the actual poster board back ground, but first I shopped out the flight stands, then added a layer, cut the figures out and pasted them on the top layer, then tweaked the **** out of the background layer to make it look like space, then I did a little dodging on the top layer to make the figures blend a little better. Overkill? :-?

I considered adding more stars, but I didn't want to take away the focus. I wanted more of a distant galaxy look.

The bits are fun to tinker with, but I like the drone idea a lot. With all the 5mm pegs it probably wouldn't be too hard to find some neat looking articulated arms to use.

Underneath on the inside there are two 5mm and 3mm ports as well. Very convenient for flight stands to make it hover. That one pic of Shockgoblin is being supported by a flight stand. Actually the bits are drowning in ports and pegs.

He's a fun toy and highly recommended. Just know what you're going into for the price. It hurt a little bit, but the excellentness of it more than made up for the sting. For me Shockwave will be naked 90% of the time. He is still on my desk in a pose close to the "All are Dead" cover that everyone likes to ape.

Speaking of grape ape, his color is one eyed purple people eater perfect ;)^
