I recently started collecting the Car robots line by takara but I'm in a bit of a bind..I literally have the entire set ( or at least the ones BBTS sells) with the exception of Fire convoy..I'm determined to find him because i really want to see the combined form of he and God magnus..ebay has been no luck and he's been sold out on BBTS forever..Any chance of him showing up at Botcon for less than the cost of a kidney?

I've seen him show up on various BST threads for 50-80 dollars for the Car Robots or Robots in Disguise version.

I expect him to go for 60-70ush at Botcon, with some sellers going as high as 100 or so for an MIB one.

Of course if you're looking for the Yellow Sam's Club version, expect to pay a kidney or possibly two

You want Fire Convoy? Good luck with that. RID Prime is fairly easy to find, but not Fire Convoy.

I did find a RID prime tonight on amazon..One was $159 ( fat chance) and one was for sale as a collectible for $90.. It has been opened and display and comes with the original box..I'm trying to contact the seller to try and get some better Pics...

I don't have a problem with RID prime, but I felt that Since I have God magnus, it was fitting that I pair him up with Fire Convoy..I love a good hunt

In fact the difference of rid prime & fire convoy is just the autobot logo... Everything else is the same

Not really. Fire convoy also has a different set of voice clips and his missiles can fire in tandem.

Fire Convoy was the first Transformers I ever bought from BBTS way back in June 2000, a week before I launched Seibertron.com

I still have the box for both Fire Convoy and RID Prime. Seeing you guys discuss these prices makes me think that I ought to put one up on eBay.

I don't have a lot of Car Robots but I happened to get God Magnus for about $90 I think it was at some toy store. Kind of on the high end but I'm glad I did it. I bought a Fire Convoy MIB at this past(09) BotCon for I think it was $50, they had one more but it was missing the wheel weapon gun. I saw a couple more there. If you can, I'd maybe wait till BotCon and see what you can find there first. Also, if you can get the guy on amazon to throw in free shipping and free insurance (basically so you can get it for $90 flat), it might be worth it depending on how badly you want it.

and on a side note, both magnus and convoy were those 15 year anniversary ones so I HAD to pass on the Korean version on Raiden and get the 15th anniversary version. That was a tough find. My cars are mixed between RID and Car Robots. And no predacons/decepticons, this was during my "no beast wars" collecting phase.

Wow $90 for God magnus..now i feel like i got a great deal..$40.87 shipped from BBTS..I always keep a close eye on their vintage dept since they update it everyday..I couldn't belive that i got a near c9 for that cheap of a price... I think I'm gonna wait till Botcon if we ever get any updates on it :shock:

I got my boxed Fire Convoy for $45, and I got a loose complete God Magnus for $25. Basically I traded with the guy at the flea market and got both for $45

This brings back fond memories of buying the Car Robots line from an online retailer based in New York and having a job paying enough that it was a monthly event, had also gotten a fair amount of Beast Wars 2/Neo from there as well. But I have to agree, BotCon would probably be your best bet for him now.

Fire Convoy IMO has a better sound chip, in addition to the Japanese phrases you also get both a single siren blast and a triple. I think Hasbro were still trying to decide how they were gonna handle the "filler" series when RID Optimus came out as one of his clips is "Optimus Prime, Maximize!" I still remember ToyFare's take on Fire Convoy in there article on the Tokyo Toy Fair "You press a button and he yells at you".

I got MIB Magnus and Prime for £30 a few years ago. That's £30 for the pair, not each. Still had original batteries and missiles taped to the box. Prime STILL has the original batteries.

I collected TF2000 when the toys were uber expensive. the dot com boom had knocked out some of the retailers who supplied my Japanese Beast Wars toys. I originally paid almost $200 for Fire Convoy and God Magnus on Ebay. Worse was paying $25 for the RID versions, which have the exact same quality minus the minor paint differences. I sold all of them at the Ladson Flea Market in '06. Times was hard.

I too want 1 and so far they go for $50-70 in box complete, loose about $30 in my searches, to me he is like the city commander b4 there was a city commander.
