Re: OF ALL THE ROTTEN THINGS!!!
That's awful, man. I hope you don't have to find out it was one of your friends, because that would make it so much harder. Though, it is strange to me that a thief wouldn't use the time to take everything of value, instead of just a couple of things/rifling through underwear. That last part would probably upset me the most, but I don't think it's that unusual.

Re: OF ALL THE ROTTEN THINGS!!!
Well my wife and I have been married for yrs, so that strikes any of her x's.
Actually now that I think on it One of my ex's knows of my love for ol starscream. That could show why only a few things were taken. Maybe she only wanted to piss me off and couldnt make off with too much on her own.
She would have had to have been holding this in for a real REAL long time though.
I.D.K...I have no answers..........

What a bummer. It's bad enough that common things of interest are stolen, but violating privacy and stealing personal items like prized collectors items...that's going too low!
You should consider installing a good alarm to leave on while you're gone.

This is a good idea. It won't stop someone from breaking into your house, but it will prevent them from taking too much stuff/ making waffles.

I'm not jsut talking about a minor alarm system bought in a department or hardware stores, those are usually weak.
It's best if you can afford a guaranteed alarm that is under surveillance from a security agency like SECURITAS if you live in Europe.

Did you file a police report?
Take pictures of the scene post break in?
Check to see how your home/rental insurance covers those items?
Were there other break ins around your neighborhood?

Have you contacted local pawn shops and collectable stores to see if your stuff turns up?
Did you get your case number from the police to track the investigation? I know they won't but if there are other burglaries, they will start cross-referencing.
What kind of door do you have that they could kick in? How did you repair it? What kind of locks are you using?

You watch too much CSI. Saliva mixed with other fluids(such as syrup) can throw off a DNA test. Also, unless the person is already in the database(laughably implausible), it's only a confirmation device used when the Police already have a single suspect in mind or caught.
If you're going to keep anything intact, it needs to be the utensils used, as they're more likely to compare fingerprints than DNA(cheaper, easier, and quicker).

Well there arent any pawn stores that will take figures to my knowledge, but I hadnt thought of that. As for collectable stores in ky all there is would be book n music exchange. Im pretty sure they only take carded figs, but That is another place worth trying.
I have a case number, but I havnt bothered inquiring. I live in a decent neighborhood. Nice n quiet. I think the cops tought it was an isolated incident done by an enemy or a friend.(as do I)
My suspicions are supported by the fact that they only dispatched two officers and they were very disinterested in what they were doing. Once they found out that not alot had been stolen and that I was most upset by my missing toy they lost any interest they may have had. I think they may have thought I had orchistrated the whole thing to collect on some ins money seeing as how only a few things were gone, but they should have known better once I told them I was not covered.
I admit that when it first happened I was livid saying things like "cant you lift prints and dna from the fork here" LOL. That could have been a contributing factor in their nearly cattatonic state. Now that I am a bit calmer I realize how silly asking for a DNA annalysis for "petty theft" is.
I still thought they would dust for prints though. I mean Id have thought that to be standard proceedure. All well. LMPD'S finest!!!
Thanks for all the help. You guys are better than the lmpd to be sure.
As far as my doors they are just standard run o the mill door ans storm door. Unfortunately people think they are safe behiend their locked doors but the fact is all it takes is a single well placed kick to send the heaviest of doors flying open and exposing you and your family to whatever is on the other side. Your door and locks are only as strong as the wood and bolts that hold them to the wall/door jam.
Security storm doors are an exception. If you buy the correct one and instal it correctly, those things are great. Ive even seen some "cops" shows where they need an electronic pully mounted to a truck to get them off. They even have a unique screw that allows you to screw it into the door way, but it cannot be unscrewed. Neat hu?
I havnt truley fixed my door yet but I have rigged it. The only dammage that was done to the door was the wood directly in front of the mettle bar that rescends to let you in as you turn the knob split clean and fell away leaving nothing to catch the mettle bar to stop it from opening. I simply took a panneling nail and put the piece of wood back on. I know I need to do a better job, but I simply dont have alot of time. Both my wife and I work two jobs and especially here of late we are just to buisy.
I guess if I come home to see that everything else I was so glad to see wasnt taken gone I will be sorry. I have a day off as dose my wife comming up early next week. Ill take care of it then.I dont have the funds or the time to install anything better than I had before though so all that stands between my possesions and the random criminal is another well placed kick. Maybe Ill send bo to burgler killing school......

My apartment was broken into in 2007 and everything except for my Transformers was stolen. I think they just ran out of space to store my stolen stuff.
So, I know how all of this goes. My metal front door was crow-barred into, bending the door back three inches out of the wall.
That being said, being busy is no excuse to not properly address your situation or safety. If you're renting, renter's insurance is dirt cheap. If you own the house, you have homeowner's insurance because your mortgage requires it.
You really should pay more attention to what happened, especially if it was "random" because those people are statistically more likely to hit your house again now.

All I can say is that you are correct. Except for the cost of insurance. That is actually kinda expensive.
Yeah though. I should have fixed all this by now. I just kinda feel like if they want in bad enough, theyll get in. It leaves a beaten dog feeling in ya when something like this happens. All I can do at the moment (with my current available funds that is) is replace my door frame. Again if they want to return it will be as simple as another kick and viola! I have a few neighbors looking out for me now but thats just what they say. Who knows if they would truley pay attention were it to happen again? Sucks ya know?

Re: OF ALL THE ROTTEN THINGS!!!
First of all, so sorry to hear that.
Don't know about you but I've personally encountered 2 robberies and we were pretty much sure the most suspects were neighbors.
One was long ago when I was about 14 or 15. I came back home from school and found our door opened. Nothing gone but my parents big and heavy safe. We lived in an apartment and there was only one entrance out and there was a security guy there 24/7. He said he was very, very sure that day seeing nobody pushing a safe or anything similar out. So that lead to a neighbor as we knew he has no job. Few more months later he moved out.
Second one was actually one of our friends. They got windows broke in from time to time after moving to their new house. And one time they told their neighbor they will be out couple days for vacation and when they came back, they got broke in again. Because their neighbor knew too well when they were out and in. After couple months the neighbor moved out (and the house went foreclosure), this thing never happen again.
Only Henkei Starscream? Hmmmmm.....

I hope you find your Starscream. It does seem like someone did this just to be mean, otherwise they'd have taken them all.
I understand feeling violated, long story short most of my stuff was damaged or destroyed as the result of someones' irresponsible behavior including some transformers. I cannot afford to replace them either.

Totally feel for ya loss. At least it was just stuff damaged & not people or your dog. Take it from a guy that's lost lots of property twice in his life: stuff can be replaced; loved ones can't... But if your loved one is a Transformer, then replacing it just takes a lot of cash & some lengthy hunting online. *LoL* Take care & with ya the best!
