Re: Official Images: Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: Rescue Bots Titan Figures
Thanks for bringing that back up. There have been a LOAD of great low-price toys... some that didn't even transform. I loved Robot Heroes and Bot Shots…and Legends. Even as an adult, I bought loads of them. Same for Heroes of Cybertron when those were around.
I'd love to see Robot Heroes make a comeback with a mix of movie bots (as an excuse to re-visit them) along with all the great unreleased G1 characters like Prowl and Laserbeak, et al.

Talk about desperate. I've had more fun with the 3 inch Titaniums.

Check out the box art: not a whiff of color, excluding the head. I'm certain that he's supposed to have more color on his torso than just grey/silver.
"Caballero plateado con espada justiciera" essentially translates to "Silver Knight with Sword of Judgement", so I'd say you're right on that one.
BTW, did anybody else think of Shogun Warriors/Jumbo Machinders when they saw these things? Just curious.

Those things are shelf-warmers in stores - why do companies keep making them? There are still 'Dark Knight Returns' giant Batman figures, Man of Steel superman figures, Darth Vaders, and so on gathering dust in stores like museum pieces. Almost nobody wants them.
The companies must know something we don't about these things, because they keep grunting them out of their factories' backsides with almost every super-hero/action movie.
But it is surprising that they made an 'announcement' for these shampoo bottle style space-eaters - as if they were actually PROUD of these things.

I genuinely thought Chase was some kinda funky Rescue Heroes Autobot Soundwave for a second.

Sooo.... mebbe this is the REAL reason Hasbro instigated the Great Crackdown on KO's a few years ago... so they could make their own crappy in-house knock-offs?
Transformers that DON'T transform? Really Hasbro?
Were the sweatshop specials really putting that much of a dent in the profit margin that you were forced to lower your standards to their level?
LOOK KIDS!!! Don't ask Mom or Dad to buy that crappy 3rd party chunk of plastic that doesn't Transform, has only 5 points of articulation and crappy paint apps, when you can buy the official product with all the same missing features, at three times the price!!!
I really don't know which side of this pisses me off more, looking at this as a collector, or as a parent.

...back in my day, you had one alt-mode. ONE! Articulation? why, if you had enough articulation to transform, you had plenty. And if you wanted more articulation, you know what you did about it? NOTHING. You transformed, stood there with your faceplate closed, and your optics sharp, just like everybody else who didn't have ball-jointed this, and swivel-jointed that. And when your were told to, you transformed and rolled out! ...And another thing...

That Silver Knight Optimus sure is popping up a lot...
Quick, someone make a custom of that!
Actually, do their chests open? Looks like they got a hinge and a big empty chest cavity. Seriously, somebody customize Chase into Soundwave, it's all way too perfect not to.

I was about to start ragging on these just like everyone else here was... until I saw the members of Sigma-17.
Now THOSE are worth picking up! They were at least given a playability gimmick and are bright, colorful, and way more appealing than those pathetic Optimus and Grimlock ones.

I'd NOT buy that for a dollar! (Sorry, just watched RoboCop.) I think I would feel embarrassed to even give those AoE toys away as party favors at my five year old's birthday party. Hideous. They should be labeled "for blind kids and kids ages 3 and under."
I imagine profit margin on those is huge, hence the fact they even exist. But, damn, Hasbro! You should be ashamed to put out such garbage!

If the Transformers: Prime Titan Bumblebee and Optimus Prime wasn't involved with a video game, same for here. I don't know why these were made and you can't call Hasbro amateur. They've been around since 1923. It could be a toy aimed for little kids (4 year olds).
My sons are 5 and 6 years old and when they saw them in stores they wanted nothing to do with them. Even my two year old daughter wouldn't mess with them.

I would say as a parent. They are insulting your intelligence to think you would actually buy a blown plastic TRANSFORMER statue that will not even transform into anything but something you will throw out when you perform the next toy purge in your childrens toybox. If they haven't disowned you for buying them it in the first place.
You would be better off just taking a ten dollar bill out of your wallet and tear it in half rather than wasting time buying something that will end up in the trash.

If they don't transform, they're just "ers".
