Don't know where you got that from as he's been "Venin" ever since Toy Fair way back in February.OptimalOptimus2 wrote:First of all, why is Acid Storm's partner called Venin? I thought his name was going to be Bugly.![]()

On the other hand, Acid Storm and Venin Bugly makes me glad I couldn't find/passed on Starscream and Waspinator. Now hopefully they don't get lost in the oncoming Movie flood...

Gears will be bought, and Roadbuster is already preordered. I hope he comes with a sticker sheet like Whirl, though, he's looking a little plain without an Autobot symbol.

(TF Prime/BH Huffer can go suck a lug-nut. What a hideous POS that that was)
I want to pick up Acid Storm but...my god, that green!
Now Roadbuster... that one I'm impressed with. Not perfect by any stretch but it's close enough that I'm willing to consider it the worthy replacement for it's original. It shows that there might be a bit of hope for this Generations line after all. Not much but a little bit.

Only gaff is that the pic of Gears on the package doesn't really match the figure.
Oh, and I think Venin is supposed to represent Venom. Those are Bugly's colors but they've been switching around the color schemes on all the partners.

Heh, Acid Storm's not loud enough!
Seriously, I wouldn't mind if the black was replaced with radioactive yellow and he had acid burn decals instead of just stripes ....even if that's even less accurate.

I agree. And he clearly has a rather simple transformation for his size. He's definitely not on par with Whirl.

Now that I'm looking at his head up close, it does look like an attempt to match Gear's usual model. There's the two nubs on top and the thin frames on the cheeks (which are normally red).
It's just that they crammed it all into a tiny head inside that larger piece on top of his shoulders. Really his head should be wide enough that it tops the shoulders themselves. That would've required some remolding on the figure though.

Funny story, he's actually G1 Insecticon Venom, but he was renamed "Venin" for trademark reasons. The colors are closer to G1 Bugly thanks to last minute deco and ID changes for the toys: Acid Storm was originally planned as Thundercracker, but along with Tailgate and Gears Hasbro probably thought "too much blue!" After the change Waspy was color-coordinated with him, and ended up as a Bugly homage. Suits him better actually.

Gears' new head is supposed to look like Brawn's since there's a planned Brawn redeco coming from it.RiddlerJ wrote:leokearon wrote:Gears's face looks like Windcharger

Because the designer who made Whirl and Roadbuster wanted these two to be as close to their G1 versions as possible (with modern day engineering level, of course), and so wanted them to have decals because that's what the G1 toys had.shajaki wrote:i was thinking that too. and he must come with stickers like whirl.... and personally i enjoy that we live in the modern day of paint apps. so why are we getting stickers again?william-james88 wrote:shajaki wrote:cybersharks bot mode looks busy. ill bet he's much more impressive in hand.

Basically, these aren't merely G1 Generations toys, these are GEEWUN Generations toys.
