This incident does not deter me from liking Power Core Combiners to the fullest extent of Cybertronian and Earthican law and beyond! The only reason I don't have any wave 2 figures yet is because I can't afford any TFs right now, what with the Christmas season and all that.

As it points out on that Wikipedia entry, the word "spastic" truly is "one of the most offensive words ever to British ears". This is not simply "political correctness", nor is is anywhere near in the same league as Slag or Slapper!
An equivalent I can think of would be if a TF toy were named the n-word or the c-word. That genuinely is how bad this is.
Renamed in the UK or not, Hasbro will find itself crucified in the UK press over this. Just imagine how a disabled child would feel, finding from the news or the internet that one of his favourite toylines has named a character after one of the cruellest and most offensive words which may be used against him.
