Dont get me wrong, I realy like Optimus's design in the movies, but dont you people think that perhaps they should give him his truck trailer? Mabey it could transform into some huge cannon or something like that? Just some ideas. Id love to hear what you people have to say.

If they do decide to give Prime his trailer it will probably have all the functions that it had in the original Takara Optimus Prime Toy;

His trailer opens up into his Combat Deck, which features a missile-armed repair drone pod (with seating for one) mounted upon a boom lift arm. Situated in the base of this boom is a spring-loaded launcher that can be used to launch "Roller" out of the Combat Deck. Roller himself has seating for 4 passengers, and can be equipped to carry Optimus Prime's rifle or a fuel pump. The interior space of the trailer allows storage room for one other Autobot car.

But think about it this way? What would he do with it when he is needed to jump right into battle? Plus it would be more dangerous driving at top speeds on the road and hauling around the trailer. It could swing off or slam into other vehicles as he makes those tight turns. If he needed to transform and launch immediately into battle what would he do with his trailer on the highway? Ditch it so that it crashes into oncoming traffic and kill many innocent humans?

My entirely pointless contribution:

I was driving some of my coworker's kids to the beach (longstorydon'task), and they got all excited at a deadhead truck, yelling "Optimus! It's Optimus!". They didn't do that to any of the other trucks with trailers.

Maybe this younger generation will associate Prime as a truck without the trailer?

HK, they also spotted 'an Ironhide' and 'a Sideways'. :grin:

orrrrrrr they could of had have roll in with a trailer and boom that cracks open and the rail gun is inside and then they say good by to the devastor

I think the new gen optimus is a work of art. The trailer would be kinda hard to make disappear in the new movies, like they made it just vanish in his driving up scene in the 80s movie.

It's kind of like putting a cart on a work horse. That's a slave if you think about it. Optimus is no one's slave. He's a war horse and shouldn't have to carry any kind of burden. Of course depending on his humility levels maybe in TF3 we might see him pulling the trailer with the weaponry inside, Autobots or NEST members? But I doubt it. There's always a chance he will have to suddenly transform and jump into a heated fight. He wouldn't endanger his passengers.

I like the previous person's idea, maybe as a nod to G1 in TF3 see Prime rolling at the beginning of the movie with a trailer full of NEST members and their gear. But at some point during the battle the trailer should bite it and he should remain unburdened the rest of the film.

But seeing him transform away from the trailer with a bunch of screaming-pissed off humans pouring out of the trailer, ready to fight decepticons, would be sweet once. It might also be the only way to top his entrance in ROTF, driving out the back of the globemaster, transforming in mid air, and then joining in pursuit. That was sweet as well.

What I would have loved to see? Prime combine with his trailer if he had one. Like PM Prime, kind of. Just not so bulky. That would have been neat-o.

If they gave him back the trailer it would have to be a special occasion only thing which gave him upgraded battle armour or weaponry... He shouldn't have it with him all the time only for a final showdown.

I never liked seeing Optimus with the trailer in the cartoon it seemed so useless.

I was discussing this with another memeber (i think it was Prime Riblet, as well, as being his idea) about Prime's intrance in the movie. While him parachuting out of the plane and transforming in mid air was cool, he thought it would have been better if he was pulling the trailer that was housing the nest and Arcee team. I have to say i agree. Prime commands..

"Autobots, role out!"

The back door drops and Arcee... Well,roles out! Prime then transforms and his trailer just slowly pans off in the distance. Never to be seen again. I think that would have been a good "respectfull" nod.
