Today I have for you Orion Pax! With new head sculpt and doors that now utilize the weapon clip gimmick to free up those really nice, golden age Cybertronian styled arms! Yay! I hit em with a flat medium grey topped with Ferrari Red high gloss and Metallic Saphire! These pics may not translate it, but this guy just feels like a young Optimus. No wear on this kid. Seeing as Orion just came off the assembly line and never fought in a battle, I thought I'd keep him fresh, like Henkei/United vibe. Hope you guys like it!

Thanks man! Yes they do. The "clip" weapon gimmick (either by design or accident) integrates with lego men hands. Sooooo.... now they just clip on the back. They still hold really well in vehicle mode too.

Thanks buddy! I love that EHobby Orion Pax set! I finally got one just a few weeks ago! It is the reason I wanted to add a classics version to the shelf.

Damn thats hot..I was looking at a Kup the other day( already have 1) and trying to decide on a Repaint/custom..Never would have thought of that...epic....That paint pops!

Oh man, that is awesome. It's making me look at the Kup toy again... I might have to get one. How hard was that door mod to pull off?

Thanks friend. If you are on the fence about the Kup, get it. Other than the arm/door thing, it is a great figure (especially with the iGear heads

). The door mod is really pie. You have to remove the pin that secures the door to the arm WITHOUT cracking the door. Get you a lego man and yank his hands off. There is an open space inside the truck mode that will allow you the room to glue the lego hands in place without impeding the transformation. The door has "snap" tabs on three sides that hold it in place very tightly in vehicle mode. Mod complete. :-B

I'm guessing that Hasbro or TFCC will probably release one of these in the coming years, it would make sense if they made one to go with Dion. If not, I've got a spare Kup I could use for this. Maybe iGear will actually release a head for customs.

Anyway, it's badass. Battle hardened old man to turbo revin' young punk.

I think that is a STRONG possibility. A while back, someone made a head upgrade for the eHobby Orion Pax (G1 repaint Kup), but they disappeared fast. I've got one more project on the work bench to knock out and then I will begin a massive custom I've been collecting parts for over the past year. It's gonna be awesome....if I can just figure out how to do it....

The face started as a universe silverbolt, I removed the chin and narrowed the nose and built the "helmet" from sculpy. Not entirely scratch built, but close.

But let me ask you, what was the kiss ass comment for?

I meant you doing a great job. This is what I wanted when the RTS kup instruction sheet has an alternate head. So hoping there is an official product, as I can't do custom myself

Oh well thankyou. I imagine those alternate head pics that surfaced from the instruction sheets will come to fruition after the DOTM stuff has subsequent toy lines run their course. Orion Pax and Nemesis/Magnus are almost certain, IF they get around to another classics themed line.

Have you tried your hand at kitbashing? If not, you should. Take a duplicate figure and just trash him! Tear him apart, throw some spare parts at him and hit 'em with some paint. As long as you use a double, you really don't have much to lose.

Again, that is a really sweet job... I almost wish I could see what he would look like as Ironhide, sort of a Classics homage to both the Original character, and his movie-verse alt-mode (in red, though, of course!)

Right, I believe that is correct. Kick not kiss. You know, the Ironhide thing is not a bad idea.... You could even work in a 1" left kit for the truck without interfering with the transformation process..... :-?

did they make a deluxe movie Ironhide? If so, that would certainly do to provide a head... By George that's a great idea!

Those colors go great together! I'm really liking that shade of red with that shade of yellow. The only rant I have about it is the eyes. I hate to say it, but they look soulless to me. They might look better painted in. Just a minor gripe! I love everything else with the figure! Looking spiffy.
