Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Fair is good, I agree.
I'm still not sure why the forum is required, though. I'm not going to dis it, or the decision, but I do wonder why it's even necessary. A lot of anger and hurt comes from it's existence, on any board.
Ah well. Let's hope for a better outcome this time. The betterment of all.

I think I'll wait a little while to see how everything settles in there first.
I don't want another case of "Amelie the Super Troll" again.

This time no matter who the person is, if they flame they will receive the same punishment.
The forum is for intelligent discussion.
If something gets out of hand please PM myself or one of the mods that are in charge of that forum.

Well, I guess if you value a free and fair exchange of ideas, then you wouldn't mind having a forum in which to do that. I've only been on Seibertron for like two years, but the old Philosophers Forum seemed to me to have been ruined not by ignorance or people being purposely insensitive, but by people who would just pop up and start yelling, five pages into a thread, that the views being expressed therein were insensitive to their views and must be stopped. There would be perfectly fine and legitemate conversation going on and someone would troll by and see Islam in the title of a thread and determine without even reading it through that the thread was harmful and derogatory.
Hmm, maybe this time it won't last too long either, come to think of it.

Now see, this is exactly the type of thing that can lead us down a bad road. You don't know what anyone is thinking, and you can't really comment on it.
A free and fair exchange of ideas is fine. For some reason, however, it just doesn't seem to work on TF message boards.
I've seen vicious, vile attacks on people in P&R forums on other TF sites (which will remain nameless...)
And people were watching the forum, mods and admins. Problem is, they joined in and the whole thing went down the drain. (It's still open, but it's definitely not openminded.)
I fear we'll have a repeat of this when you're already making baseless claims of what people are thinking, especially this early on.
I know, I know, you're going to say I'm one of the sensitive ones or whatever. *shrugs*
My point's valid, still.
I miss the days when I came to a board and it was just TFs and simple general discussion. No hate, no malice, no anger, just talkin'. Sure there are many heated discussions, and people getting in trouble, but the entire board wasn't divided into two sides.
I dunno. I like philosophy, religious debates, and things of that nature in general. But I like to keep that separate from my TransFormers. There's really no need for both to be on the same board.
I come here to relax and escape realism, not be thrust into it with teeth bared ready for a fight.
Sure, myself and many others can skip the forum altogether, but when you check the new posts list and see things like "Why my God is real, and your's isn't."* it's hard to swallow and it's not fair to have things like that thrown in your face.
*= no. No one actually made a thread like that, but you get the idea. Posts like that are meant to be inflammatory just to get the conversation going. And to cause trouble. And we will see them again.

This time it will only be for intelligent discussions.
Anyone makes a post with the intent to start a flame war will be warned (maybe even banned) and the posts will be removed.
Unfortunately there has bee a lot of members ask for that particular forum to return.

I'll give you that. However, wouldn't it be nice if you could find something to enjoy about all the forums of the board? (I realize that isn't possible most times, mo one's going to be truly happy all the way around.)

Hmm. Then there's potential this time around. The last time it was pretty much a free for all, and that was with the mods and admins doing their job. If these restrictions are in place now, ahead of time...then there's a chance this could work.
Me, Grimlock! wrote:It's been civil so far. Course, there are only three threads in there, but everything's going fine.
Which is nothing but good news, and completely surprising.

I made a general statement. I didn't claim to think I knew what anyone was thinking, and I certainly wasn't judging. What I said could be read the same way as the statement "The Governor of Illinois has not been attending his own impeachment hearings." I didn't claim anything, and I'm certainly not going to make any claims on your sensitivity. I just made a pretty general statement, which is also still valid.

That's the gist of it. I mean, it's okay to go hunting down a page to find this thread and go in to get the link, but when this thread drops the 2nd or 3rd page, finding it will get tougher. And those that don't know it exists yet or aren't on the site yet will never know.
Besides, who wants to click three times when one will do?
