I'm gonna go out on a limb and just say impatient for now.

Reveal the Shield Voyager and Scout are still nowhere to be found. Same for Scourge, Grimstone, Skyhammer and Heavytread.

I'm thinking this: Generations is sticking around until DOTM, and that the HFTD line was intended to have been phased out & replaced on the shelves by the Reveal the Shield line (think about it--both of these lines have Legends, Scouts, Deluxes, and Voyagers; Generations doesn't). But since HFTD isn't budging, especially at Wal-Mart (thanks a lot for those shipper displays of like 40 figures that no one bought, Hasbro!), they're cluttering shelf space and not moving, so no one orders the RTS figures. But I've noticed that my Wal-Mart here in town is doing inventory, so I'm holding out hope for resetting the Transformer selection & clearancing the HFTD figures. Bear in mind, this is all just me speculating.
Right now, if you're going to go look for RTS Deluxes, I'd say the safe money's on Kohl's and K-Mart. That's where I've lucked out with them before, and if I see Wave 2 turn up at the Kohl's in town I'll spread the word.

Now if I can find an Axor I'll have my HFTD line complete.

Serious. Considering I'm in San Diego, and visit multiple stores throughout the week

Whoa. You're in Cali and it's that bad?
At this point, if people have to question whether or not it's distribution, then they're just not reading up on it.
Impatience has nothing to do with it at this point. If California residents aren't finding these, then it's a distribution problem.

But really, the TF demand is way down this time of year considering:
1. Christmas has passed. It came around months ago.
2. There is no movie coming up in a month or one playing right now...nor is there a new DVD release. In summary, no movie to advertise the brand.
3. There are no toys to represent the current TV show presently.
So really, the kids aren't buying them, so there is no huge demand to get these things pumping out of the factories and onto pegs/shelves. The collectors are still a minority of the sales. These are toys, after all.

Yes, because the classics are likely to come around too late and end up on clearance warming the shelves for a while...
except for TRU. They'll let then rot for a while without any sales.

Something got really screwed up w/ these two lines and its not our imaginations or "gotta have it now" mentality. I really dont see it getting much better for the final waves and I kick myself now for not preordering Warpath and Frenzy/Rumble. I have only gotten all the newer stuff from the likes of BBTS and HTS of which I will be doing from now on. Sure its kind of an empty bittersweet feeling getting all the figures in a wave at once, from a thrill of the hunt POV. But the rising cost of gasoline has made it a no brainer.
I think "toy hunting" for me and for many others will evolve away from driving store to store to clicking site to site to see who has what available.

I'm slowly turning to this same path. Gas is getting a little too crazy.
