Power core combiners are amazing little figures
Power Core Combiners -- Love'em or Hate'em?

Huffer -- Nice toy. Simple transformation. His size is slightly larger than a scout. His minicon Calibursr is very nice. I love the translucent colors. Also they are better put together than the Classsic/Universe Minicons which aren't worth the plasitic they were molded into. Still not as sturdy as the A/E/C minicons, but they are large...larger than normal minicons.
Searchlight -- Not so nice. So far he's the worst of the bunch. Transforming him to alt mode was a chore. However, his two copter blades in robot mode look like spinning swords for a nice effect. His minicon, Backwind is odd, I don't know what he changes into, but he looks alsmost like an ape. Long arms and short legs has that Optimus Primal alt mode look. I have been playing with him for hours now.
Smolder -- Sorry if people though he was ugly, but he looks awesome. The best of the three I have gotten so far. I love that he is a 'con and his alt mode is just as menacing. Chopster, you have to love him. A minicon that is a flamethrower and an axe.
So far I have only done Huffer's commander mode. The head is ok. Searchlight, still not so good. Smolder has the best head of the three.
Also the minicons become breast armor, so for those that want an updated version of Victory's Breastforce, this maybe it. Caliburt as a breast...err chest armoris decent, but you have his gun going out makes Huffer's appearnce odd. Backwind folds up into a true chestpiece. Smolder...well wow, I like him alot as a chest armor.
They may not be the tops, but I have had fun playing with them, so I may pick up a few extra's for MIB, but all three today got opened because TRU and free shipping sucks because they can't package them right.
The pictures on the net don't do justice, seeing them in person is where you get your happiness from. And So far I like them. Tomorrow I'll take more pics with the Bruticus force.

I bought the jet five pack and that figure is very disappointing.
Switching out Searchlight for the center figure of the combiner improves him dramatically. I have to say that Smolder is a really good figure as well.

The limb ports are a little annoying being sky blue, but less than I expected them to be. Huffer's transformation is simple, but it's Huffer. It's not like we've ever had a complex and difficult to transform Huffer ever before.
I skipped the other guy, searchlight? Almost solely because of his minicon. I have no idea what Backwind is suppossed to be.
Also, he is called Backwind.

As per the Hasbro Team at BotCon, it's "wind" like "wind a watch", not "wind" like the "wind is blowing". Damn English language.

That's right, Farts McGee the Mini-Con. He hangs out with other Mini-Cons I've named such as Finger, Purple, and Ophelia.

I picked up Huffer (had to make Huffer my first as G1 Huffer was my first Transformer ever), Smolder, Bombshock, and Skyburst. Went a little nuts due to the excitement of seeing them and getting them at buy one get one half off.
I really like the mini-cons Chopster and Caliburst. Granted they don't have their own vehicle modes but their weapon modes for their partner's vehicle modes remind me of a cross between the G1 Targetmasters and Powermasters.
Of the drones my favorite and least favorite both come from the Aerialbot set. The white jet with the radar dish is my favorite just due to how cool it looks when combined. My least favorite is the light grey jet due to it being a glitch to attach and not being a very stable leg. One of the things I like about the drones in general are the mini-con posts they each have, can really deck them out.
Really looking forward to getting Searchlight and to future releases.

-Neither can stand in combined form...
-The limbs are not scramble city as they say, more like trade an arm drone for another arm drone, or a leg drone for another leg drone.
-Auto conversion is interesting, but a gimmick I would rather not have, and it could be replaced by something else, like I don't know, transformations to robots...
-Bombshock has a nice looking commander. Alt mode is carp.
It's like they took the movie automorph, mech alive gimmick and tried to have it work here... I don't think it does very well.
It's also as if they heard our cries of...Movie Devastator has no individual robot modes for it's combiner in the large sized toy, so they said we hear you and gave ONE of the combiners a robot mode. They've been sold on this drone idea for some time.
The jury is still out for me.

The Aerialbots pretty much suck. Not only are the joints FAR too tight, but when I tried to move the center body into 'torso' mode, one of the legs broke at the thigh pivot. It didn't pop off, the joint completely snapped.
The drones are too tight, and neither of the legs actually will act like a leg (tested on Searchlight). About the only drone that works decently is the Spy Plane, and it's ALSO the only one that looks decent as its intended limb.
As for the two packs, they are a FAR different story. All three have good articulation and decent proportions, look better as a torso than Skyburst, and their vehicle modes are pretty durn good as well. Backwind is the least of the three BreastTargetMasterMinicons, though he makes the best armor, and Caliburst has the best weapon mode. Chopster is kinda meh in all modes, though his robot mode is still considerably better than Backwind's.
To be honest, I still wish the drones came separately - I could mix and match at my will.

So far I only really want Bombshock, though the upcoming Constructicons and Dinobots sound interesting.

I'll be honest, I probably won't get the rest of the first wave drones, but all the regular two-packs are MINE!
Second wave drones and beyond? Maybe...

I still have yet to see these guys in store, but I did see the Combaticons on display. Looks better in person for sure. But if it's true all the commanders from the 5-packs will later get 2-pack releases, I might wait for that.
Of course, I might just skip the whole line in favor of Generations and HFTD.
