I don't like how any of the figures' prices have been inflating. It's just about driven me out of collecting at all.

But if you are asking about the fact that I can get all 4 for $17.49 a figure and individual at $18.99, I'd say that is a fair $1.50 surcharge for breaking up a set. As is evidenced by Chromedome selling out, some figures will go faster than others. BBTS needs to be able to account for stock held or not sold because some figures are more popular than others. It's all economics. Supply and demand. Etc.

I guess I am just a bit more sympathetic to the risks involved for small businesses. I used to work for a comic book store (and almost bought it at one point) so I am very familiar with this sort of prognostication. BBTS has employees to pay and needs to make money. Indeed, if they are charging too much over the competition, then they will see sales drop. At this point, given what has sold out, it doesn't appear that the customer is ready to stop buying from them.

I really wonder if places like BBTS are receiving the brunt of what is actually overall inflation in toys (and other products). Would these same sorts of discussions be taking place if we were talking about $9.99 versus $11.49?

Ultimately, in my opinion, I prefer to pay the slight surcharge in figure sets, and shipping, to guarantee receiving the product I want over risking not being able to find it and paying a much higher amount in the secondary market. I don't want to risk it. (I suppose it is almost a version of insurance...)

I just looked. Blaster is still out of stock like he was when I checked this morning, and Brawn and Flywheels are in stock, but the other 2 are out of stock, as was the same story this morning

A lot of people have been looking for Grand Galvaron at a decent price. He is still readily available in Japan at the same price being asked when he first came out. Are you kidding me?!? I just bought G2 Superion and Menasor on eBay for $60 and $90, respectively. I'm so pissed. If I had waited a couple more days, I could have bought both and also a G2 Bruticus I was eyeing on eBay, and for $10 dollars less than I paid for only two of these sets.

Score! I can use some of these for customization, especially at these prices.

The only thing that gives me pause is that with this absolute fire sale on the G2 sets, we're almost positively never going to see G2 Defensor.....that these two are selling THAT bad doesn't bode well for his ever seeing the light of day.

I'm really happy that these sets have gone on sale, I'd pay $30 each for G2 Superion and Menasor. G2 Transformers were my first Transformers figures. The problem is that while I really want these sets, I've been saving up for MMC Carnifex, and getting both of these would set me back a bit. Hrm, decisions :-?
