Shew, looks wonderful.
Can barely tell it's got legos.
Far out.

I hope it will have a lot more classic Soundwave visual cues (head, shoulder cannon, chest shape, etc) when I'm finished.

Hiding the Legos is always a big part of these kinds of projects for me. Glad you like it so far.

excellent work timshinn73...you're really taking this down to the last sprue, not shortcutting anything and sticking close to your original design as much as possible. i'm curious about the feet, are they customized or bashed from an existing figure? they look very detailed.

The feet are made from modified Bionicle parts (main foot), bits I cut off a Venom Megamorph figure (big toe in the front) and a few bits from the underneath of the Humvee model kit (little toes on the sides).

that's amazing. i thought Bionicles had small footprints, but judging from the pics they can support your 11' tall model. i guess the Megamorph parts do help stabilize the balance, there seems to be no problem with the posability of this figure.

There are several Bionicle parts I cut up and combined to give the main part of the foot a little more heft and weight. No real balance problems. I tried to keep the weight evenly distributed on the overall figure, so he stands and poses pretty well.

I'll try to do at least one of his minions, if not all 3 (Laserbeak, Ravage & Rumble). We'll see...

It'd be nice to see Rumble or Frenzy, Laserbeak is just kindah meh.
I'm so gonna regret that.

For Laserbeak, how about making him a radar dish that sits ontop of him in alt mode, and on his left shoulder in robot mode. The edges of the dish could swing open (similar to his cassette transformation) for wings and the connecter stalk becomes his head.

Maybe. Gotta finish the big guy first though. I'm getting close. I'll try to post some pic updates soon...

Or the base of the Radar dish splits into the legs and body, with a retractable head, and the dish folds apart to form wings. The connector stalk forms a back-mounted laser weapon.
