Personally, I've always used the Marvel comics as my canon. Beast wars/Machines and Universe have all been proven to carry on from it.

Even as a kid I found most of the cartoon childish. Alpha Trion is just an awful stereotype in my opinion and a bearded TF seems really silly. I loved the Dreamwave comics as well but their inclusion of Alpha Trion really bugged me. To me, his inclusion in the Thirteen just seems wrong.

Also, the Quintessons were in the UK TF comics.

For me, I'd go with:

Prima
The Last Autobot
Vector Prime
The Fallen
Liege Maximo

I know one of the weird things about the original 13 is that they exist in EVERY reality in some form or another....Vector Prime and Unicron's dimension hopping is supposed to be somehow connected to that...that said, remember, each and every version of Transformers is a DIFFERENT one. Alot of current lore is taken from the G1 COMICS rather than the cartoons but the cartoon is still very influential...

while the cartoon may have been influential, the American versions primary purpose was to sell Hasbros new product line. Afterwards, it was to provide story and some continuity for all the kids but the importance of this didn't start to sink in til around 1987 when the movie had come and gone. The prospects of you guys being able to complete your list is slim at best but I think the best chance you have is going to start with taking portions of both the US and UK Marvel lines (both of which have elements) pencil those guys down, then jump to Dreamwave's main line, then IDW's and find which names double.

The Last Autobot is a protector and a final vestige and conduit of Primus' power but he was not one of the originals. He was created later after Primus had forseen a time when his creations would reach a point where, for lack of a better, more eloquent description, they screwed the pooch and needed a bail-out.
Just so there's one less name on the list to worry about.

This is an ambitious undertaking guys. Folks have been trying to get this mess, or something like it, starightend out for years now. If you pull it off and actually get everyone to buy off on it not only will I be seriously impressed, you'll likely have the thanks of most of the Fandom. Best of luck.

Gee, didn't see THAT coming! Furman is tops though. What the title lacks as far as excitement and intrigue will be made up for between the covers. Do you know if it is another mini-series project or just a few side issues or maybe a compilation style book? It's a lot of stuff to cover, info and multiple backstory tie-ins and etc. etc. I'm hoping he doesn't take 13 months to bring the story to the masses.

Yes,please,give us our source.I really love the whole original-13-transformers concept but I tend to accept the info found at tfwiki(http://tfwiki.net/wiki/13_original_Transformers) and it doesn't mention this theory of yours,which I really like and would love to accept even though it doesn't seem quite logical since some of the G1 combiners were constructed by other TFs(Constructicons by Megatron,Technobots by Grimlock etc)...
