Advice for posting images?

I recently took a bunch of pictures of some of my Transformers to share in the collection forum as well as in a few other related threads. I still need to touch them up a bit, and that leads to me ask the following:

What is the ideal pixel range, file size, and picture height and width for posting on this forum?

I don't want the pics to take long to load, and I don't want them to be too large or too small.

I figure once I've selected the right ones I'll use photobucket for hosting.

Any advice would be helpful, and if my questions have been answered in a thread I could not find (I did check the FAQ and do a general search before starting this thread) a link to the answers would be great!

Thanks! ;)^

Lol, nope! Just a slow day I guess!

I don't think file size is an issue for the site (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but I wouldn't go larger than 640X480. It would just be a giant post otherwise; especially if you want to post a bunch of 'em.

Just my opinion! Hope that helps!

I usually upload the biggest images I can (1024*768 or bigger), and post either thumbnails or a link to the folder, but YMMV. If not, I'd go with 800*600, any smaller and it's kinda hard to see.

Thanks for the help! Maybe I'll see if I can post something quicker to load on site with a link to a larger image for the pictures that need it. I guess that way I can incorporate opposite advice together. ;)^

On a similar note, what's the right number of pics per post? I could put all my shots into one post, but that might be a tad too long. On the other hand, if I only chose two or three pics for one TF, that would mean a lot of extra posts. Based on how I took my pictures I have a sense of the theme I want to group them together with, but I have no idea if I should post more than 4-5 pics in one post, especially if I want to post in a size that will not require clicking a link to a larger picture for every TF.

Wow, that's a lot of use for the word "post." 8-}
