Amazing Naming Coincidence!!!

Postby Primacron's Little Helper » Tue Sep 04, 2007 12:06 am

I'm in the habit of coming up with names for the various toys I've got which are duplicates of the ones I already own, for instance I've got the 'Movie' diaclone version of Ultra Magnus who I call Super Magnus (Super Powered Convoy + Ultra Magnus).

Anyway I've got the black version of Starsceam (e-hobby release) who I decided to call Darkstorm since like Sunstorm he could be a clone of Starscream (but darker naturally).

I was just reading about Chris Latta (who did Starscream's voice in the cartoon) and he apparently also did the voice for a character called Darkstorm in a 1987 cartoon called the Visionaries - which I'd never heard of before.

Just had to share this coincidence (nobody else I know would care :-( )!

I am afraid that your source on the Visionaries cartoon is wrong man. Chris Latta voiced a character called Cravex, not Darkstorm, close but no cigar ;;)

RIP Chris Latta. He made Starscream and Cobra Commander what they were. I have yet to here and exact duplicate of Lattas voice. I was really hoping that the movie would have someone who could impersonate Lattas Stascream voice.

In case anybody is interested, Latta makes a few cameo appearances in a couple of "Married with Children" episode from season 8. He plays on of the guys in Al Bundys group No MA'Am. It is funny because he plays a charicter named Roger and he and Al always get into it about each other wives and the other guys have to hold them back from fighting. Hilarious and I love that we get to see Latta in one of the few filming parts of his career. It is hard to find video or even pictures of Chris Latta. He is greatly missed by people like myself. He IS Starscream

Pretty sure Chris Latta also had a role on an early seinfeld where he played a mugger who was arrested while trying to relieve kramer of his horsetrack winnings

Chris did both Cravex's and Darkstorm's voices.

Yes, he did many voices and when you hear him talk in those Married with Children episodes you can hear that element in his voice. He doesn't sound anything like Starscream but you can hear the other voices.

Wow I didn't know he did cobra commander but that would explain why I liked him so much. He was my favorite gijoe character just as starscream was my favorite transformer.
