American Shopping

I'm not sure I shouldn't be posting in the Toy Sightings forum instead, but here goes...

Over Christmas and the New Year I'll be staying in Los Angeles (and a few days in San Fransisco). It'll be my first time in America (I'm an Englishman living in Tokyo).

What I want to know is: which are the best chain stores to visit? Are there any American exclusives I ought to get? Does anyone know of any stores that sell rare/vintage TFs in the Torrance area? And are there any good sales between the 24th December and the 4th January?

The big 3 are walmart, toys r us, and target. They all have exclusives if you can find them.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I reckon it would be pretty good to good have a section somewhere on the site with advice on places to buy transformers around the world.

For example I imagine New York would be quite a good place to go transformers shopping but I wouldn't have a clue where to look.

People could contribute on their home towns or places they found when visiting somewhere.

It would be nice, though it might overlap with the Toy Sightings forum.

If you are not looking for the current lines in TRU, Target or Wal-Mart, I recommend goggling for collectible stores in San Fran and Los Angeles. While you are in Los Angeles, I recommend visiting Frank & Sons Collectible show if you get a chance to go in that direction, which is on every Wednesday afternoon and Saturday all day long. http://www.fs-collectibles.com/. There are people there that have the current lines and everything to G1. When I visit some of my friends in LA, we always go to Frank and Sons. Also, welcome to the United States.

Your quite welcome. I also completely forgot about the store locator on Seibs. http://www.seibertron.com/sightings/zips.php just enter the zip codes of LA and San Fransisco and you can definitely find some stores.

That's great, thanks.

Are there any, like, boxing day or new year's day sales, does anyone know?

There should be end of the year sales after x-mas.
