Can we please sticky, "Search Function not Working"

I'm tired of members saying to other members things like;

"This topic has already been covered"
or
"If you're too lazy to search"

Some are lazy yes, however I believe the vast majority are not, just uninformed.

I think it's safe to say that if any of us were searching for a particular topic and could not locate it after a few pages we would simply give up and ask. When I first joined I tried using the search function many times to no avail. It was not until I emailed a moderator who then informed me about the search issue.

One of the first things a new member should know is that the search function is not working. It is a noobs duty to search first right? So as not to piss off other memebers with noob questions. We all have seen this over and over. I believe that a sticky could take care of at least half of this problem.

I agree, which is hwy I answered anyway. Since I new the search function wasn't working. It was only until he said he tried, that i explained the situation.

but yeah, a Search function not working sticky would address these issues.

Also Using Google's search limited to the site, can produce useful results.

Now you might ask, what would be put in this sticky category?? What would people comment about?

I would hope that topics which are frequently inquired about get posted in this sticky? The topics that people get tired of answering over and over and over. This category could contain links to frequently asked questions?

For example, I can't find deluxe 09 BB. How come he is so hard to find?


Then hopefully someone might want to provide a link to this topic?

Again, just ideas

The post at the top of the sticky could then be updated to include the commonly-posted topics along with links to the most informative thread. That way, we could all hunt down the best thread on the new MP Starscream release, or what-have-you.

It's fairly silly that a site of Seibertron's stature would have its search function broken for so long. Is there any possibility for its repair?

There are a ton of duplicate topics covered all the time but you really can't get mad at anyone because the search function is so badly broken its not like they can do a search for ANYTHING.

I think there a lot of people that don't know about this ^^^.

Thats why you get a lot of "that topic has already been covered" and what-not. It's nobody's fault really.
