Are Jazz's arms that bad?
Would you not buy Jazz solely because of his arms? Or is he worth it anyway - or perhaps even a decent toy?

I like him. He's not super good, nor is he particularly movie accurate, but I think that he's a decent figure.

I have one, the arms are kinda of funky, but whats up with his hands? Are they suppose to be that small?

His forearms do, in fact, suck. His claws are tiny like the Penguin's from Batman Returns.
With a little kitbashing (Doc Ock's claws, a couple pieces of sprue) he looks much better.

His arms aren't that bad. If you position them right, they look pretty decent. He's not the best movie toy, but he's also not the worst either. I have the regular silver version and I'll be picking up the G1 repaint as well.

the arms are alright, but you somehow get the feeling of being careful so you don't break the arms(even if it was hard) cause they look kinda frail.
he also has a sweet alt mode. quite faithful to the real thing, no exaggerated designs or anything.

ofc, 77 Bumblebee is crap tho. automorph thing on his chest on mine is broken, cant get it to hang on, and not fall out again.
77 BB also looks frail, as frail as a 90 year old woman in a wheelchair trying to snowboard.

classic camaro Bumblebee is good if you got one without the Automorph problem (which I did), but he still looks like a duck.
Like most of the people who posted in this thread, Jazz is growing on me...like a fungus.

IMO this little guy kicks major depticon booty. This was also the second movie fig I managed to pick up. It was definitely awsome for me. I learned just recently though what the holes on hi gun/sword thing are for. You can attach his "shield" and make it look movie accurate.

If I had have done what I normally do, and researched the little bugger before purchasing him, I would have skipped the Silver movie version, and gotten the G1 styled version.
The hands are an abomination in this day and age, there is no real excuse as to why Hasbro could not have given him some kind of flip out claw hands, more similar to the ones found on the real gear figures like Meantime.
The fact that most of his roof and spoiler add nothing to the transformation is also a shame. However he does have very sturdy legs...

It took me a while to do that too, it's not only crappy looking but also sort of hard to get out.
The hands aside, I still think he looks pretty cool, but not very movie accurate. He was one of my first two movie toys too, I chose him because he looked cool.

I'm with CounterPunch on this one. Jazz Sucks, as I've stated in my blog.
Jazz Sucks:

Maria (my 10yo daughter) still likes him, but the 2007 movie edition of Jazz sucks: the arms are too hard to transform and are hinged with three individual pieces of double-hinged plastic, all of which are small parts, all of which are easy to break (which makes transforming him not fun), and to boot the final step to merging the hood back together (which is what splits apart into four pieces to rotate, move and become his arms) is nightmarish.
Jazz does look good in car mode. Robot mode is decent, but he has tiny claws for hands, and his arms get caught in his chest and don't feature the full range of motion Jetfire / Skyfire does.
Despite all of this, however, Maria likes Jazz, so bear that in mind as I gripe and grumble.
