Some humane society is cashing in on the lead recall of toys made in China. It claims that parents should buy a safer no lead included playmate for their children, It claims a puppy and kitten are the safest things. Is this a good idea or bad idea?

Well given the number of unwanted dogs and cats that are put down each year then yes, it is a good idea.

A pet will give a child companionship that a lead painted toy won't.

HOWEVER

Some kids and their parents have lead laced brains and will often end up neglecting the animal.

So i'm hoping they're also pushing the message about the responsbility involved in taking on an animal.

bad, because the puppy will maul the babes and the kitten will use the tots as scratching posts.

depends.....
babies + golden retriever puppy = good idea
babies + pitbull = you a** on the 5 o'clock news

cats and babies dont really mix cause cats dont know hoe to "play gentle" like dogs do

i might just be biased towards dogs

i dont like cats cause i was severly allergic to them when i was little... like if i was near them i couldnt breathe..... it's not that bad anymore but my eyes still get fire engine red and swell up :oops:

and barricade...would you actually trust kids around molly?

I don't think i would trust a young child around my yorkie...then again he would probably tear their ankle off before they could dmg him...

wow um gutter i was origanally cujo i just changed to barricade for a little bit but i'm back... and yes i would let molly be around a little kid cause she would run away real fast and hide under the sofa the whole time
