Beast Wars Magmatron?
Does anyone have him?
Looked him up on eBay and Amazon and I'm very close to buying him, but I want to run it through you guys first. Is he worth the $30-$40 I'm going to shell out for him?
He looks like a fun, simple dino combiner and has a very tyranical look to him. I've just started a BW collection and he will look nice opposite Primal and Megatron.
What do you all think of it?

If you are a fan of Beast Wars, he is definitely worth it. Just keep in mind that the individual beasts do not have separate bot modes as with Magnaboss or Tripredacus.

yeah, tons of fun! 'specially if you like dino's (and who doesn't)
Certainly not one of the prettier TF's ever made though...
doesn't bigbadtoystore have a new stock of them right now for pretty cheap?

Awesome. Yeah he looks great in both beast mode and bot mode. Yeah I've seen and read that his beats don't have individual bot modes, but it doesn't bother me any.
Looks like Megatron and Magmatron are going to be battling to be the supreme Predacon leader in my display

Last time I checked, they had the Takara version on backorder for $30.

For real. Dinos are great fun.
Magmatron looks pretty to me when hes all dolled up in his bot mode.
BBTS has him on backorder till sometime this month, so I'm gonna get keep an eye out. Definitely going to pick him up sometime soon.

Honestly I am not a fan of him. He is slightly awkward in bot mode and very, very difficult to transform. Add to that the 3 dinosaurs only transform by combining together with no other alt mode.Slumble Bolt wrote:Bump for some more opinions.

I would say a 6 out of 10 (just my opinion).
If you are willing to drop $30-$50 for a Beast Wars figure I would highly recommend going on Ebay and finding a Target exclusive Cryotek.

Cryotek - isn't that the BM Megatron red-dragon to blue repaint?

Yes and he is realy awesome, if you can get him, I recommend him(Id send a pic but he's hard to get at right now).
He's very detailed in all modes with several complex transformations.
You can find him on Ebay of BBTS for around $30-$40, I'd say if you can get him, do so.
Big Convoy is real great too!

Is he a whole separate character or is he just a repaint with a different name?

I've never seen Cryotek for that cheap!?!
When he first came out, the repaint notion put me right off to him. But after getting Cryo-Scourge, I reviewed some of his pics and, well, he does look good enough to get.

Thats good to hear. I'd love to see a pic whenever you get a chance. I've never hard a combiner before, so thats another reason he peeked my interest. Plus he's a beast wars combiner which automatically makes him awesome in my book.
I'm assuming that Big Convoy is Prial to Magmatron's Megatron (I hope someone understands what I'm trying to say)

I've seen them go for around $50 at certain times.
You have to find an auction that ends in the middle of the day or early morning. Also try to find one from a seller that isn't selling other Transformers at the same time. This ensures fewer people will actually see the auction during its ending and you can snipe him cheaper.

If you think of him as a "combiner" you will be very disappointed. His three pieces are not true robots like other gestalts.

hey slumbs, i think you're trying to say "Primal"? in that case yeah, he IS the counterpart to Magmatron.
and yeah dude, M'tron's good, though i hadn't had the pleasure of seeing one in real life. but read BW: The Gathering and see how calculating he is compared to Meg's ruthlessness. there's a likeable sense of villainy in him.

yes indeed Primal, lol.
Thats what I like about Magmatron. He is almost completely different from Megatron. Their biggest similarity is that their both Predacons.
Man, I haven't read the Gathering in like 5-6 months. I'm going to have to pick it up again soon.
I don't think I would be this stoked about Beast Wars if it wasn't for this forum.

Oh my god there are so many good looking Beast Wars TFs and I just don't have the money for them all. I think my head might explode when I make the choice of who I'm going to buy next. They all look so good though...

Who wants to make a brother's life easier by buying him some beast wars TFs?
...
Anyone?

BW Neo Bad Guy numero uno.

Re: Beast Wars Magmatron?
Beast Machines Dinobot actually. And it is the same character as the Beast Wars Neo character. According to the story, Magmatron returned to Cybertron and saw what Megatron had done to the planet, which caused him to switch sides.zemper wrote:Raymond T. wrote:Which Magmatron are we talking about here? Although there is little to no differences between the Beast Wars Neo figure and the Beast Machines figure, aside from the packaging, in general the Beast Wars Neo figure is worth more to collectors than the Beast Machines figure.

I picked mags up at botcon I dig the bot mode. I never wanted one till the gathering then it was on. I PAID $40 for the us release and it's worth it, if you can get it cheaper it would definetly be a good move. I also have the nemises convoy repaint of big convoy, if you only have one beast-bot that should be it. That is the best beast wars type figure of all time. TX

Got Magmatron, very cool, not much play value but if you just want him to look kick-ass and all menacing he's your bot!
