That price is about right for MIB.
I paid $195 plus $50 shipped a few months ago.
You might be able to find a better deal if you wait for it, but the offer you have in hand is not exorbitant.

I'll probably be patient and wait for a better deal.

I would say that price isn't bad actually.
I remember when these things first came out a local importer, overpriced I might add, was trying to sell them for $350. I saww them as low as $165 elswhere and that was at the time of the release. I know they have gone for much more than $270.

This thread seems familiar ... oh yeah, I created one a few months ago myself!
For the record I paid $450AUD which converts to about $390US, inclusive of postage.
Bit over the top? Maybe a little, but you've probably got better chances of finding him in the US than I did in Australia.

I got my Brave Maximus about 6 months ago for $200 MIB with free shipping.
Don't forget to buy the Reprolabel Brave Maximus Upgrade set for it, the set is $18. It's not listed on their website, you have to ask for it. WELL worth it.

If it is the Sonokong version, I'd say 250.
Why would the Sonokong version command less money than the Takara version? Other than the upside down Autobot sticker (which can easily be remedied)...
Oh wait. Let me guess, you're going to say it's not the same toy, the plastic's different, yada yada yada. That's been debunked so many times I've lost count.
They're the same mold, same plastics, same toy, just repackaged through Sonokong via a license from Takara for the Korean market. There is nothing else different, other than the sticker and packaging.
Nothing.
Oh and that's actually a good price for Brave Maximus, especially MIB. He seems to be rarer than his G1 counterpart. (at least in my eBay searches and sightings. Grand Max, however...that's another story. Ouch.)

No, I am not about to say anything negative about the Sonokong version and try not to make assumptions about my opinions or anyone else's. In the real world it is generally a trait found in less likable and generally ignorant people.
The Sonokong version is fine except for the sticker issue and their QC issues. However, it does command less money. Thats just how the cookie crumbles.

Oh. So you're going to flame and personally attack me for posting information that wasn't aimed directly at you? I see.
I didn't flame you, I didn't attack you. I simply stated that the negative ideas against Sonokong's items is basically ridiculous, considering they're the same toy. (which is true!)
Nowhere did I dig at you.
You say my actions are found in less likable and ignorant people, well you assumed about my post as well. So, where would you like me to hold the mirror for you? You could use it yourself.

About $250 but if your talking about an ebay auction they can get as high as $650 or more depending on the condition.

Well, since I brought up Sonokong, and you in the next post made your comments and quoted me, actually, I'd say they were directed aqt me.
Ofcourse as usual, you can't just be aman and apologize. Nothing new to see here folks....

I apologize when I'm wrong, all the time. I'm not sure what your problem with me is, but take it to PM so we can address this, before they close this thread down, or get either of us warned over a stupid couple of posts.
Before I end this here, here's a breakdown of my post so you can see what was what, and what wasn't:
Autobot032 wrote:Why would the Sonokong version command less money than the Takara version? Other than the upside down Autobot sticker (which can easily be remedied)...
I had no idea that Sonokong items generally sell for less than Takara originals. I stand corrected.
Autobot032 wrote:Oh wait. Let me guess, you're going to say it's not the same toy, the plastic's different, yada yada yada. That's been debunked so many times I've lost count.
^ This one, was for you. I don't deny that, but that's not a dig, nor was it a personal attack. I said nothing of the sort.
Autobot032 wrote:They're the same mold, same plastics, same toy, just repackaged through Sonokong via a license from Takara for the Korean market. There is nothing else different, other than the sticker and packaging.
Nothing.
This was for everyone, especially those who didn't know or weren't sure. This one wasn't directed at you, personally. I apologize for the confusion, I should've been clearer.
Autobot032 wrote:Oh and that's actually a good price for Brave Maximus, especially MIB. He seems to be rarer than his G1 counterpart. (at least in my eBay searches and sightings. Grand Max, however...that's another story. Ouch.)
This was for the O.P. or whoever else might be interested in buying a Brave Maximus. This, also, was not aimed at you.
I can see where you might've been confused, and I have apologized for the confusion. However, I did not get personal with you. You did that first, I only offered to help you receive a taste of your own medicine.
Bonger wrote:Ofcourse as usual, you can't just be aman and apologize. Nothing new to see here folks....
And yet again, right here ^, you personally attack and flame me AGAIN. This was absolutely uncalled for and was without provocation. You might have credence in nitpicking a post or opinion, but not the person. You have no right to determine whether or not I'm a man, simply because I didn't buckle and apologize to you for something I did not do.
You're the one who owes me an apology for getting personal. I'm sorry for getting the ball rolling because I wasn't clearer in my original post. That was my mistake and I admit it, but it wasn't aimed at you and wasn't personally attacking you or anyone else.
Now, if you're going to continue this, take it to PM, otherwise, let this thread carry on as it was originally intended. It's not fair for either of us to derail this poor poster's thread.

I've actually sold 3 Brave Maximi over the past several months. The first sold for 400, the second for 250, and the third for 385. So the price is all over the board with these. For the record, none of them were sealed. A sealed one sold on Ebay a week or so ago for 600!

Haha, I agree let his thread continue in peace.
Couple of points though.
1) In my original post I did not necesarily attack you personally. I used the term "generally." As in a lot of the time, people who make assumptions happen to be the same people who etc etc....
2)I think you are overreacting. I didn't like the way you phrased your response and I made that clear. You did not like my retort and you made that clear. As far as I am concerned, thats the end of the matter, so I agree, lets drop it, and end of the story.

I got my Brave Max MIB at a steal for around $140 or so a couple years ago. Until a couple months ago, I had no idea how expensive these guys were becoming. It's pretty insane. I'm kinda surprised that Takara hasn't reissued Fort Max since they can obviously use the mold for that market. Maybe they figure Brave is good enough. Eh, for me he is.

I would be all for this. However, this time, I'd hope they'd release him as complete. Ya know, Gasket/Grommet (Cog) etc.
I could care less about Pretender shells, Master Swords and all that. (Although, if they made 'em and they were included with the figure, then I'd buy 'em.)
But that to me sounds like a pipe dream. I doubt we'll see it.

When Brave Max was released, he was the ultimate shelf-warmer here in Japan. As many of you know, space is at a premium on our little island country. As you can imagine, a 55 cm tall toy is more than a monetary investment. Takara was reluctant to reissue Fort Max. However, now that TakaraTomy is looking to target the adult collectors out there, I'd be shocked if the idea wasn't at least being tossed around.

Good points. I really can't imagine any other figure that would garner as much interest with the adult collector as a Resissue Grand Max in all of its glory. I think the question is not who would buy it, but rather, who would not buy it?

A reissue Grand Maximus would probably retail for around 200 USD. Considering it weighs something like 17 pounds, the shipping on that thing would be...considerable. I usually pay around 120 to EMS ship a Fort/Brave Maximus to the US or Australia. Chances are, a reissued Grand Maximus would probably set a non-Japanese fan back around 300 dollars. That's probably not going to be a huge seller.
Look at God Ginrai. That was one of the single most wanted TF items ever. It got reissued (at a fairly reasonable 100 USD, iirc) and only the really die-hard fans bought it. You couldn't give those away. Places had them marked down to around 35 USD! I'd imagine the same would be true of a reissued Fort/Grand Maximus.

Thats really too bad. I'm sure most people hanging around these boards would jump at a MISB Grand Max reissue for 300. I know I would. Definately beats out Brave Max at the same price point.
It is unfortunate that TFs are apparantly not as big in Japan as they appear to be here.
It is probably because they got to watch Headmastyers. Since we were deprived over here, we compensated by becoming obsessed collecters.

TFs not being big in Japan has helped me greatly. I can add figures I've always wanted to my collection for very little. As a bonus, I can offer up other rarities to people at (hopefully) lower prices.

One of the reasons I am seriously thinking about vaca in Japan next year.
