Classics opinion

I get the feeling the classics line is pretty much over once all the anounced figures hit the shelves.I really like the line so far and wish to see a few more figures.I havnt personaly seen any new molds on ebay or offical anouncements on it.If there were more coming you figure the fandom would know about it by now.(Before anyone says it yes i was at botcon and heard about possible other figures)I just get the feeling the line is practically done. Its probably my favorite line since Transformers were introduced. With the movie on the way Hasbro seems to want to shy away from anything else except for the movie figures.

It has been stated this line and Altenators are going on hiatus for the movie line, they might come back later but it's doubtful.

It would be such a lost marketing oppurtunity for Hasbro if this line is discontinued. I think if they truly want to make money, they need to keep this line going cuz I don't know of any Transfans (personal friends or any of you Seibertronians) who don't own at least like any 2 of the Classics figs. Most of my personal Transfan friends are completest like me when it comes to this line and have all of them.

That and a few of the Titanium line, of which I don't even know who is going to carry them. I remember reading that Target is dropping the Titanium line from their stores.

I love TITs.

I really do wish Hasbro would make more classics. We need more seekers and an Arcee. Some of the new Titaniums look like they can fit in with the classics nicely though.

I won't be shocked if a few could-have-been Classics show up in Movie Packaging. Arcee perhaps?

I really hope they dont stop this line. It is my favorite line by far. I have all the major figs. I have not found devastator or soundwave yet but I have the rest. I wish they would of done a revamped soundwave, instead if reissue. I will be on the look out for more of these. I hope to see more dinobots next time around.

I think we're all at the point of doing this  regarding the Classics line. I would have to definitely agree that just about all TF fans and collectors do not want to see the Classics line end.

It does mistify me that Hasbro would put a line on haitus that is geared, aimed and made for collectors at the risk of truly dissappointing the collector fan base. The live action movie is a big deal for Hasbro and I think we all aren't suprised at the intense focus by Hasbro on the movie. But Hasbro has actively produced up to 4 different lines at one time before (Armada or Energon, Universe, Reissues, and Alternators) without any huge problems.

If the Titanium line or Alternator line isn't selling as well as Hasbro expected but the Classics line is (I'm guessing on this based on the store shelves in my area) why can't they do the movie line and the Classics line simultaneously then revisit the Alternators & Titaniums later?

Bottom line, I think putting the Classics on haitus or cancelling them altogether is a very bad move on Hasbro's part.

Hasbro is taking all the other stuff off the shelves so they won't compete with the movie toys.

Dreamworks is putting money in and getting a piece of the pie with the movie toys so Hasbro just wants to give Dreamworks their money's worth.

I can understand the business sense of what you're saying. But I disagree with the idea that the Classics would compete with the movie toys. I really believe the Classics and the Movie toys are two different animals. Heck, they might even complement each other. Showing the consumer where the Transformers have been (so to speak) and where they're going. Kind of a from Classics to modern day (movie toys) motif if you will.

Truth.

Even with the focus that the Bros. are putting into the Movie merchandise, theories of competition aside, Hasbro really needs to take this ball and run(like hell!) with it. They wouldn't just be letting down their fans, they would be missing a golden oppurtunity.

I can handle a "hiatus", as long as ait actually is one. But It would indeed be disappointing for the line to end altogether.
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

Classics really saved the fandom for me. I Like the other lines but it wasn't until classics came out that I really became invigorated about being a collector again. It's a shame they won't see there full potential.

Any and all "Action Figures" aimed at boys btwn 5-11 would be competition with the movie toys. For every TF collector there are a dozen kids buying Classics.

Exactly. Seeing the classic Starscream at walmart for $10 is what got me back into collecting Transformers again. I hope the line comes back strong in fall 07 or winter 08

they just need to shell out a couple of dollars to Figuroa to draw up some fresh designs and turn them into plastic. seriously, its not a hard equation, and theyd pull in mad loot by doing it. im pretty sure there isnt anyone here that wouldnt mow down a seven year old in the aisle for something like that. also, they need to make some kind of armory with all sorts of weapons and stuff, maybe with wheeljack or something. theres always a shortage on guns.

p.s. minibots choke
