Last week I was talking to a fellow forum member about the availability of movie figures, and this topic surfaced.
He recalled that a while back, there was a post regarding collecting TF vs investing money in stocks/money markets/other forms of funds. I'm interested to see if that topic is still around, and since the search button does not work properly (at least the last time I tried it..) I figure somebody in this forum is bound to know it.
Can anybody point me to the right direction?
Collecting TF toys itself is a great hobby, but the price appreciation is nice bonus.

Counting on the price to appreciate is just as much of a gamble as the stocks.
Except with stocks, you have analysts who are paid thousands to predict and advise. And that MIB Star Saber figure is appreciated enough for most of us already, and isn't about to "crash", whereas RiD Magnus or G1 Powerglide are affordable and probably won't go up anytime soon.

sorry no idea about the thread
but
Collecting TF's as an investment is crap.
Collect because you like what you're collecting, not because you think they'll be worth big bucks later.
How many people are sitting on cases and cases of Star Wars figures and comic books because those were the big money makers, then all of a sudden the bottom fell out.
Poor investment.
also anybody intrested in a buncha Star Wars figures and Comic books....
j/k
