I don't think you would remember a very interesting and true scene from a movie that's name escapes my mind at this moment:
This very true scene wrote:A boy looks up at his astronomy teacher who is showing off a telescope, who also has no memory of the contact she has had with aliens and asks, "Do you think that there is other life out there?"
She looks down at him an smiles, and looks back out the opening of the observatory and says, "If not, it would be a big waste of space..."
This scene spoke to me in volumes, and a began to contemplate. Naturally, my love for Transformers also added to that contemplation.
The question entered my mind at an extreme velocity, could there be other life in this universe?
As the quote above states, this would be a big waste of space if no one else was out there but us. With that much space there would have to be another Earth-like planet out there with people kind of like us, like the early days of Stargate, but there might be other, more different looking people on different places.
This could be true, but it only is speculations right at this moment.
Their tech are some of the ways to judge how they might be. Big space ships with uberlasers mounted on them with marks signaling how many planets they have destroyed probably means that they are not friendly, and are probably going to want to destroy us too, we would be like the Native Americans and they would be like the British and everyone else coming to claim that land.
It didn't turn out well for them.
On the other note, with great technology would have taken great mind and responsibility to create, therefore, some would be peace loving, and others would be warlike.
My great love for Transformers made me also contemplate them actually existing in this universe.
This is how I would think it would go:
My speculation wrote:A race of organic people, that could be much like us, have used all of the resources from their planet and they have turned into a wasteland, Trees die, animals don't have food to live, water becomes toxic, and the world becomes a desert, and people begin to die off. They race to find some way to save what is left of their species, and only one option is viable: Transferring their consciousness from their bodies, to a robotic being that they themselves created.
They take new names, more robotic names, for their original names weren't fitting.
They modified their desert world to make it not have a wear-and-tear on their joints, and to be new and technological.
Though with seemingly everything, they wanted more. They would begin conquest on a massive level, using their mechanical bodies to their advantage, they would take over worlds, and exhaust its resources, and leave a dead planet.
Some, however, don't want violence, they want what they had before, peacefulness. They would band together and begin to rebel, it would be small at first, but they would grow stronger with each passing second, so then seeing the rebellion grow, the warlike side would see them as threats and begin to fight, and then begins the civil war.
Their war would branch out from just their own, and come to other worlds. Seeing that they wouldn't want to be discovered by the natives, so they chose their own forms of hiding among the natives by modifying their own bodies to be able to scan one thing, and become it.
This story is like a Go-Bot story, people become shape-shifting robots, a war begins, etc. but this is how it would happen, a simple Robotic organism being there with no means of creation is improbable.
But you still think that there is no life out there? Then that is your opinion. I know one thing, that quote is very true and I believe in other life than ours, possibly even Transformers.
