so i just got my Cybertron LC Optimus Prime, the blue legs version, not the black one from eBay today. while everything was cool and all, i noticed one significant thing:



as you can see by the encircled part, my Cyber Key has no colors at the edge, where it's supposed to be (according to the box depiction) gold-colored. is this common among Cybertron OPs or did i just get a dud?

btw i opened the OP and aside from the aforementioned, no problems at all. oh, i read somewhere here that it came with coin-shaped batteries, but mine did not come with any, and it's powered by AAA's instead of the former.

All Cybertron Primes have keys with unpainted edges. Such a thing also happened with Vector Prime and Ransack.

Yup.

Perfectly normal. Which is why Hasbro always has their little disclaimer on their boxes. "Item pictured my vary from actual item in box", or something to that effect.

I think the edges may be painted on the Takara release if I remember correctly. Either way, it is a minor difference.

LC OP never came with a gold cyberkey. But GF OP does

Yup, the handles are painted Gold in the Takara version. As usual Takara releases get the better paint apps.

Japanese Convoy from the Galaxy Force Line has a key painted with Golden handles and a red emblem.

American Optimus Prime from Cybertron Line has blue key with red emblem.

American Galaxy Force Optimus Prime (slight repaint, dark legs, planet key markings) has a painted key with gold sparkling Autobot emblem.

I wonder how many of the new collectors spawned from the movie get headaches trying to keep up with all this.

Either way, the cyberkey paint app difference is not worth getting upset about. Everything else is exactly the same.

I like it not having painted edges, I think having Silver on the edge would not look as nice with the Blue plastic they used.

crasp...another example of Takara getting the better releases. and to think that the Cybertron Black repaint got the better-painted key!

whats the story with GF prime? i never kept up with "tf-cybertron."

basically he's an overpowered Prime (with the guns and all) who's kinda crappy in actual battle, unless assisted by a Cybernetic Lion that acts as his "claw" and a weird-looking Jet that resembles an oversized A-10 Warthog.

but kidding aside, this is one of the best OPs to come out in years in terms of playability and poseability, and he's a triplechanger to boot.

Yeah we get the crappy cyber keys. Same with Vector Prime's trim on his wings

i saw that lion in the instructions. is there any place i can still get one??
