I've been lurking for about 2 months now and this is probably the best, non-repeated question I've seen.

I took my Power Rangers when I went

I didn't actually go away to college, but if I had, I wouldn't have taken 'my Transformers'. I certainly would taken some of 'em, though...

When I went away for college, my G1 figures were in my parents' attic. I gotten them out in August of this year...they are with me now. In terms of roommates, the only one that I have is a dog.

I have a very small collection, mainly Beast Wars, RiD & movie, & at home I only have one shelf to display them on so I only have around 20 on display at once, so I'll probably do the same as Ramrider suggested when I leave next September. I'll leave my "storage" ones like my old, beaten up BWs & non-liked movie figures at home, but take a few nice ones to display. Then rotate them around whenever I come home

I hope my roommates won't mess with them, my OCD would kick in & I'd probably throw cooking utensils at them...

Theres my 2cents ^^

I did, had them all over my dorm room. I lived in a single during college, so roommates weren't a problem. I have housemates now, and none of them mess with my Transformers. We just keep them in my China Cabinet in the living room (or as we call it Autobot City) for all to see.

I really wouldn't. They're too precious to trust to the tender mercies of your room mates. Not just messing, but a greater awareness that many of these toys are worth money also means probable theft. Room mates, the facilities manager, the cleaning lady... it's better to be safe than sorry.

Why thank you. I found it randomly doing a google image search for a picture of all the Autobot leaders. If I was a little better at Photoshop you can beet that Prime be on Shortround about now.

I did not take mine because you never know who gets into your room (roommate's friends). During your freshman year, I would leave them at home unless you want to take your chance.

It never even occurred to me to take them.
I did, however, buy G2 Slag while at college. Oh, how I wish I'd bought more G2 figures!

I agree, help them avoid the temptation and keep them locked if you are in a dorm or a similar accommodation.

I didn't collect TFs when I was in college, but I definately would not have had them out for display. Anything and everything can happen, so why tempt fate?

Besides that, and I know this will spark more debate, but most chicks aren't going to be impressed by an extensive TF collection. I'm not saying that you should hide it, but when you are first meeting a girl, that's the kind of thing that should be kept hidden at first and revealed later.

I dunno, my current girlfriend found it kinda cute when she first met me ^^
Besides, It's better to get it over with rather than get a month or two in, really start to like her, then find out she finds you sad & pathetic for collecting toys. Better to get it out in the open in my opinion.
