Yes, I was taken in as well, I never got Skywarp although, seeing him was the first Transformer I had seen, since I had give them up after RID and all the car robot gap.
It was not his colors or the gun that made me not get him, but when I saw the new guy I was thinking hey I will strip off those brown blobs and make a Sunstorm
But to my dismay unlike most transformers when they transform and their arms lock into the box shape that holds the "shoulder" in place, so you can pose the arms alas there were none.
I had to return him,the lack of shoulder clamps, and perhaps larger calves and feet to blance the gun, I liked the mold although in jet mode he did not "form" back tightly, also if you do not like the big arm just make an arm for the piece to peg into and remove the fuselage in bot mode.

Well I didn't buy him cos I thought he looked stoopid. Same for the other repaints of old figures that they're passing off in the movie line.

Wait... what's wrong with the Cyberjets? What are you saying?
nothing is wrong with the cyberjets. i love my universe cyberjets. i am just saying that the C-thundercracker mold is just that. an oversized cyberjet. though i have to say that i have never had a problem poseing mine.

This is one of those cases where the Chinese knockoff actually fixes some of the flaws of the original. This Knockoff sold under the name "Excellion" (yes!), is a giant version of the Legends Thundercracker. He stands a bit shorter than Deluxe Thundercracker, but they made the missile launcher a seperate accessory held in a full normal arm, and made the feet larger and more stable. Of course he only has 6 points of articulation, lacks a actual launching missile and cyber key, and I had to add the Decepticon symbols.

now if a knock off can make the missile launcher a separate piece, why on earth was Hasbro unable to????

I'm still getting used to the fact that the 1986 movie takes place 3 years in the past now.

It seems that sometimes they just don't think things through properly.
