Do You Like The Sound Effects Of The Movie Leader Class Toys?
I don't know if someone asked that question before. If so - sorry. I don't have any movie Leader Class toys and I don't want to have one. I don't like those annoying sound effects. And are the batteries good quality? I mean what if they spoil and damage the toy's electric stuff?

nope, I'm not a big fan of the light's & sounds gimmick. I'd rather have a less boxy torso and more articulation and detail in that area.
The batteries in Leader Prime are AA. If you change them as soon as they go dead ... there's really no worries.
If you are keeping them MISB, then yep ... there's always the chance that they will leak all over the place. I'm going to take that chance with my movie leader figures. Hopefully at least 1 will hold up over the years. It'll be interesting to see. I'll be keeping a close eye on them, and first sign of discoloration means I'm carefully opening all MISB items to remove the batteries.

Only if it doesn't affect the design of the toy too much. For instance, i love my Ultimate BB, but I know he could look heaps better if not for the need for the battery box.
The movie leader toys I have are okay. Prime and Brawl's battery compartments are unobtrusive. Megatron's stick out like a sore thumb if you have him transformed like the box. I prefer to rotate that top turret in the opposite direction and he looks a lot more compact.
I like that Prime has two different sounds depending on which mode he's in. That horn toot in truck mode is a really nice touch.
Megatron would have been really cool giving him something more useful than the raptor scream. I can quite see the sense if that scream was only in intergalactic jet mode, simulating the high pitched roar as he zooms by at high speed. However in robot mode? Should have been along those famous lines by Weaving "I... am MEGATRON!"
Leader Brawl which I just opened is cool. 3 different sounds that make sense depending on what you do. Tank cannon boom and two different types of gunfire report.

it's easy enough to take care of if you don't like them; just remove the batteries. I don't think that has any effect on the automorphs, just the sound.

Why are the batteries there anyway? They should be next to tre robot in the box so you can put them if you want to.

as an adult collector, collecting TF is like collecting some kind of "serious things" or "pieces of art".
but, the light and sounds in the leader's remind me that they are just toys.pretty sad though.
so, i never buy (if they still have sounds and lights) a leader class type, not prime, megs or brawl, no matter how good looking they are.
better buy some MP's

I like Prime's alt mode horn sound, very authentic. I wish they'd given him a couple movie quotes in robot mode, tho. The lights in his chest are too weak, and the wrong color even, aren't they?
Megatron's lights and sounds are useless. A couple of movie quotes in robot mode and a jet whine in alt would have been better
Brawl's sounds are great! Authentic and appropriate. The lights are dumb, and the accompanying clear parts weaken the visual impact.
All that said, most of my lights-and-sounds TFs get their batteries removed anyway, bec. I usually play with them after my 3-year-old goes to sleep, and they're just too loud.

I prefer not to have sound effects. As stated by Archaim, it just re-enforces the fact that it is, in fact, a toy.
I don't mind the honking on Leader Prime though. I was driving my wife nuts with the honking the first few days I after I got him. I kept him in alt mode on the living room coffee table and kept hitting the button to make him honk.
The light definitely should have been a different colour than yellow though. I honestly don't know why they didn't use blue LEDs.
Although the light feature on 20th Anni/MP Prime is just freaking great. I love that light up matrix!!

No offense (I don't know why)... but this made me laugh.

Probably because blue LEDs are a tad more expensive.

It wouldn't should up bright enough in the windshield.
But why not blue LED along the bumpers and sides? Like how he was lighted in the Movie.

i think brawls are kind of annoying when transforming him, but overall i think they are a nice touch. i love "automorphing" OP's head because it looks and sounds so cool.
speaking of which- is there any way to lock in brawls back in robot mode?

Check out in YouTube. There are thousands of video reviews about transformers. I watched some about Leader Brawl too.

That would sacrifice the transformation of Leader Prime. After all, his sides rotate, his bumper splits into two, etc.Auto Bot wrote:But why not blue LED along the bumpers and sides? Like how he was lighted in the Movie.
