Does anyone feel............
Does anyone feel Nothing towards, todays transformers like i do, as i don't see any appeal to them, but on the other hand when i look on ebay and other websites and see G1 or G2 figures, i'm like "Must buy!!!".
The Current movie transformers, to be honest look, rubbish and aren't worth the money.

I'm not like a huge fan of the movie figures(I still like them though) but I can't see how anyone that likes G1 or G2 could dislike the TF Classics line. Best line to come along in years IMO.

I like them, but not as much as the G1's. I really like the deluxe bumblebee, Bonecrusher, Barricade, and a few others.
But the G1 stuff has more meaning to some of us I think because it was what we grew up with.
This new stuff is cool to collect, but it seems more for this generation of kids.

Yeh i get what you mean, but even the classics line, doesn't appeal to me, i'd rather get something from the encore edition line, or somethin that looks more like an old figure, instead of a old figure that's been updated and polished up

I wish they would come out with new combiner sets that are done in the same style as the G1 ones. Actually, I wish they would release more combiner teams in general, seems like since RID there hasn't been very many if any at all.

Then I guess playing music and doing art full time has kept me young, because I love the new TF's, and I grew up with the originals.
I love G1 for what it was, and what it reminds me off. Soundwave, Starscream, Megatron and Prime will always be the heros and villians I grew up with.
I love the 2007 TF's for what they are, badass posable robots with awesome alt modes that actually lock together tight and look like real vehicles.
The G1 cartoons and toys remind me of being a kid in a good way, the new movie made me Feel like a kid again.
and hopefully 20 years from now I'll look back on the memories I created seeing the film, meeting other TF fans, and hunting down the elusive movie line during the 'TF Draught of 2007'
so I guess I love 'em both.

I find it is quite the opposite for myself. In my humble opinion a lot of the G1 stuff looks like crap. Nostalgia aside, there's no two ways around that some of it is just bad. If I was given the choice, I would almost always take a Classics figure or an Armada figure over a G1 figure. It would have to be something pretty special to me like Grimlock to change my mind.

No, I actually love the new lines, Classics and Movie.
Don't get me wrong, if it weren't for G1 I wouldn't be here, hence my name, but if you don't open yourself to new views on your true love, then ur doomed to disappointment.
Love your G1 figures, but give the rest a try. You'll be amazed at the leaps TRANSFORMERS have taken since that era. Look at the Masterpiece line, absolute heaven.

That is perhaps one of the exceptions to the rule. I hate Cybertron Skywarp. =( If I weren't his number one fan I would never have bought him.

I'm as old-school TF as you can get(been collecting TF since 1984) and I like it all, old and new. To each his own, I say.
Classics Skyfire for example, for someone like me was still a collecting high-point for me. I love that figure, he looks like he walked right out of the G1 cartoon.

G1's pretty cool and all, but with the prices they're commanding. the prices of the toys makes me look like an idiot - not taking care of all my G1s when i was younger. i'd rather stick to the currently released line of toys as they're more cheaper and accessible.

Skywarp-2 would perhaps take offense to that statement. But then again, Skywarp gets alot of love here. He is, IMHO, the 2nd best MP figure. Next to my Prime that is.

so you prefer non accurate brix to well designed poseable figures? Idk but i find that weird. Not that I'm trying to dis ur thoughts or nothan but I feel nothing tward G1. I mean u don't like any of the new figures? I mean G1's had little or no movement and didn't look anything like their show counterparts but the newer lines and the movie have some of the best features to date.Electron wrote:Does anyone feel Nothing towards, todays transformers like i do, as i don't see any appeal to them, but on the other hand when i look on ebay and other websites and see G1 or G2 figures, i'm like "Must buy!!!".

I totally concur with Mr.Bond007.
I mean, some of the movie FAB are more complex than your average G1 toy.
A little advice ... NEVER have kids. Nothing they do will ever please you. They will grow up with OCD.

I'm kiddin, to each their own.
Have you actually held a movie toy in your hands? Are you going by just web images? If so ... I say you're talking out the side of your bum.

I disagree with the OP. The three most recent lines, movie, Classics, and Cybertron, were absolutely awesome. (even though I have no Classics, and only 1 Cybertron figure)

nothing will ever top g1 in my opinion. just seeing those figures makes you feel good about this hobby plus they were made so well back then compared to the crap that gets rushed out today. classics are a nice way of updated g1 but only some of them were good. from the looks of it, the next wave will be good also though. everything else is pure garbage to me. i wouldn't touch any of the movie filth and the upcoming animated stuff will save me even more money.

I love gen 1 because I grew up with them BUT the classics and movie toys are awesome, levels above gen 1. Give them a try.

Gen 1 were the first set of figures I went for. Completing my old Magnus (only usable parts were .... well, most of the *parts*), completing Powermaster Prime, getting G2 re-release G1 Prime, G1 Galvatron, G1 Hot Rod, G1 Starscream ...
But, I do have to admit I was in seveth heaven with Alternators, MPs, and especially the classics. The movie toys are fine, really, but they don't have the characters I'm attached to. I've always wanted toon-accurate TFs with great posability as a child and now ... well, I have my wish.

I love the G1 line ,and I collect them more due to originality and nostalgia. I got one titanium figure Scourge. Some paint is coming off both knees. Got Mp dvd edition Optimus Prime ,and Mp Megatron which I'm dissapointed with the quality. From the classics got a few. Got Bumblebee,Mirage,Starscream,Jetfire,Grimlock,Ramjet, and HotRod. Skipped Classics Optimus Prime, Megatron ,and Astrotrain since they didn't appeal to me much. Waiting for Octane coming out next year. Got Armada Unicron and Cybertron Primus cause they look like their g1 counterparts ,and it's the first time being sold here as a toy.
Got a few movie figures like Fab Starscream, Voyager Ironhide, legends Bumblebee , deluxe Barricade ,and legends Jazz. That's it! Not getting anymore. The movie line doesn't do it for me much. Saving up for the Skylynx reissue. It is on my wanted list.
