I am trying to learn about the transformers re-issues. I have seen auctions for dinobot swoop and Ratbat + Frenzy. These look like american releases. Are they? Where can I get the most uptodate info on re-issues including takara ones?
Are they doing another starscream, prime, megatron? I want some I never got as well as seconds of a couple I do have for display purposes.
Please someone point me in the right direction.

I am Very Sure What you are looking at are knock-offs. Go To Amazon, or Bigbadtoystore, or even HLJ, for Re-issues.

Those are Chinese knockoffs, the general rule of thumb is that if it is in an American G1 box with no Japanese writing on it and it is advertised as a reissue, it is fake, unless in the Toys R US version boxes (which look totally different).
If you want to get reissues, search on ebay using the term "TRU Reissue", or you can buy some just released reissues from Japan, like OPtimus, Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave from mos specialty on-line tostores like imageanime.com or bigbadtoystore.co. They are called the "Encore Series".

If you dont mind having ko's then go for it. Its my understanding that the cassettes didnt have many quality control issues(any?)
I cant say i've heard the same for the swoop ko however.
