Garfield lacks the suggested cannibalistic tendencies to eat Felix, other wise Nurmal, the wonder kitty, would be on the main course. Further, the fat cat lacks the speed to manage sitting on the nimble Felix. He'ld have to out smart him.
Felix has a "bag of tricks" affording him untold weaponry gadgets and other animated gifts of hyper space. Even enough lasagna to satisfy his current foe.
Learning this Garfeild ships Oddie, then Nurmal, too Felix by way of his bag of tricks... Felix hand over the fabled bag to be rid of the vexingly adorable grey kitten. and slobberingly stupid mutt. Garfield then begins to feed his epic appetite.
I consider this a win for Garfield still.

Garfield invites Felix to a meal of lasagne. Garfield is used to rich food but Felix is soon full and feeling drowsy. Garfield batters him to death with an over-stuffed weekend newspaper that's two feet wide and six inches thick.
'WEEKEND EDITION, BITCH!' screams Garfield maniacally.
