Figure Modification Help

Postby publicvisage » Thu Oct 25, 2007 12:18 pm

I just won the Transformers Universe Repugnus and Overbite set off eBay.

I've heard that they're both good figures, but Repugnus' mandibles are attached backward. Does anyone have this figure(or the BotCon repaint)? If so, is it possible to take the figure apart to fix this problem?

Thanks!

Looking at the gallery pictures, it looks like Repugnus' head is held to together by a simple screw, but I can't tell if the mandibles are simply placed in wrong or if they are actually glued or otherwised fastened.

This is the same mold as BW Buzzclaw, whose mandibles are assembled correctly, so if anyone can tell be about how his mandibles are secured I can extrapolate to Repugnus.

Thanks

I have this figure and the mandible is in wrong, but it's not glued in. It is possible to fix it as I've done it but you should know that there is a peg at the back of the insect head you may break when you unscrew the head.(I know this cause that happened to me) The good news is even if you break the peg it doesn't matter as soon as you replace the screw the head will look fine, although some superglue may not hurt but that's up to you.

And some pics of it in the correct position.(I hope these load ok I'm new to uploading photos)

Thanks for the tip!

And I can't seem to get your pics to load. Maybe if you just imbed them on the page?

As I suspected, he looks much better without the mustache.

Now I'm really looking forward to his arrival!
