It's like making a toy that is clearly based on G1 Orion Pax and promoting it as being G1 Optimus Prime. The toy represents a version of the the character that does not match its label.

I'm not saying that they should simply change "Rodimus Prime" to "Rodimus" (while that would indeed work, it would also be taking the easy way out). I'm saying that for this to be Rodimus Prime, it has to look like Rodimus Prime. This looks like "Hot Rod", or rather "Hot Rod's toy". Hot Rod himself didn't even look like this. Both he and his Prime form had, more or less, the same look as the Takara MP toy.

This is probably the giant nit pick of all time. I am just... wow! This is all over a 'name'. Prime and Hot Rod were nearly identical in their animation models... to each his own I guess, but I cannot believe that you are just pissing all over this figure because he favors Hot Rod over Rodimus. When Hasbro gets the trademark for Hot Rod back we could have a more vigorous debate on the name of the figure.

ha, they were identical weren't they? And yet, this toy is coloured like neither of them.

I have a Takara one and I'm gonna buy this. My Takara one is sitting in Space Winnie mode just because I'm afraid to touch him but I will have to eventually just to put him away.

Okay we get it critics. We should forget that the G1 Hot Rod toy ever existed. We should only get rehashes of the animation model and nothing more. Boo on originality and differentiation, Hasbro should just surrender to Takara and their color models.

i just got sentinel pink so this guy being red is fine for me another pink prime would have meant my daughters ponies wanting to play lol no more pink primes please robots should be silver and black and gun metal with extra colors to accentuate their personality not make them look like the how should i say without offending anybody.... like the sissy of the group(sorry thats the best i got)

I already own Takara's version, but it's in Winnebago mode all the time. I'll get this for the robot mode. And yes, sadly that does look like poopy silver plastic instead of actual chrome.

july or aug.? I'm not sure. I seriously regret not looking at the tag closer to memorize when i was near the case. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!! me. I just hope it's available for sdcc
