G1 Octane's colours

Postby Cyberpath » Wed Oct 24, 2012 11:21 am

Okay, this is kind of random; I got Octane as a kid (I think because somehow I got the impression that he was Astrotrain,) and for as long as I remember his silver parts turned to purple. Curious if it happened to anyone else's toy?

It's not about the silver parts having turned purple, but the metal having been stripped or worn off. Those pieces are not die cast metal, rather they're vacuum-metalized, the plastic had a thin layer of metal on top. Similar to our "chromed" pieces.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I think mine still has the chrome. I'd be willing to part with it if anyone wants it.

I think it's nice that you played with it so much as a kid, you rubbed almost all the paint off. Now that is one well-loved toy.

I think the purple looks better than the chrome anyway. Fits better with A-Train and B-Wing.

Hi Adam, they are pretty much all played out. :) Some were more durable than others, but I'm always surprised to see photos on the net of G1 that look brand new.
