Talk about FMax, I'm still upset that Takara didn't release RID BraveMax in the G1 FMax colors :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

I would've purchased in a heartbeat, but instead I had to pass the RID version. It's driving me nuts to see how much he's going at Ebay. :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

Bruticus doesn't have the metal in the reissue. The only other thing I can think of is the rare G1 Prime trailer that had metal plates in it. I don't think any of the reissues have that. That's a rarity to begin with anyway.
:BOT:

Thanx for the info. I've had 2 Prime trailers in my life, i think my very 1st one had the metal plates, but not sure. My 2nd trailer which i still have, does not have it. Where is the metal in the trailer supposed to be again??

I must be having a brainfart assuming the re-issues have swapped out metal. I'm probably thinking of the modern lines right now being all plastic & not as sturdy.

Geezus -- i don't even wanna think about Fort max --couldn't afford him and don't have the space!!! Would be pretty sick though

I don't understand the facination with Fortress Maximus, other than the fact he's huge and really expensive. To transform all he basically does is lay down and have a little nap. Scorponok is by far the better toy out of the duo, but I don't see him getting much respect.

I find it a shame that the most expensive (and usually most desired) Transformer is basically an oversized Metroplex. =;

It's funny that Hasbro haven't revisted Starscream and Jazz, especially since thier reissues were so hated by fans - long missiles and a dodgy face resculpt are not nice. They could just remove the springs like they did for Sideswipe ect.

I always found it odd that Takara didn't seize the opportunity to reissue Devasstator off the back of ROTF, instead they painted the movie Legends version green and purple, WTF?

Couldn't agree more. That was the perfect time to finally reissue him.

Let's hope they don't miss a similar opportunity with Shockwave in DOTM.

They can't reissue Shockwave. They don't own the rights to the mold - it wasn't a Takara or Hasbro design to begin with.

Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx were made by a company called Toybox, now a subsidiary of TakaraTomy.

So yes, Takara do own the rights to the toy.

IIRC an interview was made with the former suits of ToyBox, even they couldn't give a definite answer on who had the original molds,(not quite sure on their answer on who owned the copyright in the interview). As for Skylynx and Omega, talk about divine providence, Toybox actually subcontracted their designs (OS/Skylynx) to Tomy which fortunately merged/joined forces/etc with Takara. And IIRC, some stiff was rummaging around their archives and found blue prints of OS and Skylynx............the rest is history.

I wish and fervently pray that an official G1 Shockwave would be re-issued soon.

Btw Ms Amelie, I sort of disagree with you on the re-issue Galvatron, he wasn't pink though his shade of purple would have been best served if it followed Superlink's Galvatron G version.(That and he also came with the gold die-cast Matrix)

don't quote me, but I've read several times that the mold to Shockwave has been lost, or permanently broken, so it is impossible for him to be re-issued. This doesn't explain how the KO people make theirs though. I bought one last year from KOtoys. Excellent quality. Electronics work too. If you can afford it, I highly recommend them.

Amelie --- i have G1 Scorponok and Metroplex, so now I need Fort Max ;)

But guys who I'd like even before him include Wheeljack, Reflector, Devastator, and Jetfire (and EVERYBODY).

Put me down for reissues of all the characters you listed there too and a Scorponok of my own as I don't own him. Chances of any of them are probably slim unfortunately but here's hoping anyway.

I really hope that's not true about Shockwave as he was easily one of the best G1 toys and indeed one of the best Transformers toys ever, except for that fragile rubber tube.

Really wish HasTak would give us some kind of clarification about Transformers that they will never remake (even though the KO companies have the ability to remake them).

Same here. Scorponok or Trypticon would be good reissues if they do decide to bring out more of the big guys.

The Encore line was superb and then it just stopped. With no announcement or anything.

Encore line 2 would be superb if it was anything like as good.

The only chat we've had is about a Dinobot giftset (!). I believed it at first but so much scorn has been poured on the idea + it's been laughed off by everyone.

I'd really like any info I can get too but with the movie dominating everything for probably the rest of the year it might be a G1 reissue free 2011.

Takara can pull the trigger on reissues whenever they want to. They're a lot lesser busier than Hasbro because they don't have to release kidtoys like Activators and the works.

Reissues are coming, trust me. I'm not someone who's going to troll members of this site with false info.

Hey Blurzz, I think maybe you thought my last post was a veiled criticism of you; I must have written my post badly as I certainly wasn't implying that you have trolled people.

You've stated several times that the Dinobot giftset is on the horizon and so many people in various threads have said it's impossible or it's just a joke or it'll never happen or anything and that's what I was alluding to in my post.

Your info regarding reissues has been 100% accurate for the time that i've been a member of this site and I seriously hope this one is also true!

Just wanted to clear that up mate,
