Getting Fortress Maximus

hi all,
Next year I plan on getting Fortress Maximus hopefully 100% complete in good condition. The problem is how do i get him without going into debt?
As he is nearly always £400-£1500 and only available in the US/Canada does anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah, but the challenge in making a run for it with that thing in your hands and all those tiny parts in your pockets is soooooooo much fun.

I have discovered a solution here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lot-3-G1-base ... 19cbc154e1
If I buy him in a bulk lot i can sell the others off so he would then be less money. This is the only way of getting him.

Just be patient and try the different auctions.

this for example
No Spike or Cog for that matter.

Holy ****, that was a great auction! I know it may not look like it but it was. Both Headmasters had their heads and the bits are all easily gotten. The hardest and most expensive to get would have been Full-Tilt's gun.

I've owned Brave Max twice and had to sell it both times. The first time I got it, it was taller than my niece! Now I'm getting TFCon Stronghold to be my Classics Maximus and the only way I'll own the real deal again is if I hit the lottery. Still, it's like my dad said after selling his (midlife crisis) boat: "There are two great days in a boat owners life, the day you buy it and the day you sell it." I definitely felt that way about Brave Max!
It's worth whatever it takes to get it as long as it's what you want.

Re: Getting Fortress Maximus
Wasn't their rumors a while ago about a KO Comming out soon in the first quarter of 2012. rumors said they were going to do all the versions of this toy with all the accessories. like usa fort max,Japanese fort max,Masterforce grand max & Car robot brave maximus.
From my persepective. you might as well wait a bit longer & see what's going on with this KO. at the very least you'll get a brand new KO with a box & all it's accessories & brand new stickers.
If you live over seas, near china or europe. than shipping fees should be less for this KO Fort max.

Was KOtoys.com making fort max? when I wrote this reply I speculated if Kotoys.com was making this KO fort max or not.
Was KOToys.com also responsible for making all those high quality G-1 transformers? like all 5 1985 Dinobots, scramble city combiner gift sets, 1980's tripple changers,1986 Scourge & 1986 Cyclonus.
I bought all 5 1985 KO dinobots & they were so horrible. the guy who sealed the inner bubbles to the card board backers inside the box,did a toddler/amateur job. apparently it looked like he was trying to save money on glue as the glue was barely on the inner card boardf bubble backers. NEXT UP AT BAT was the extremly thin coat of factory paint on all the 1985 KO dinobots diecast metal parts. The boxes I got were all chrused & looked to be under C-6 condition. THIRD,I had to use a scissor & make the sticker sheet look presentable. LASTLY,The plastic baggies these KO TF G-1 companies use looks horrible. so I had to replace them all with AEC styled baggies to hold the paper work & accessories in them.
I had HUGE SUCCESS with the High quality KO G-1 1986 Scourge & 1986 Cyclonus toys. these arrived in C-10 collectors condition. the toys were properly sealed on the inner card board card backers. the toys had almost no diecast parts & the original never applied factory paint to the diecast metal parts. MY ONLY COMPLAINT,Is KO G-1 Scourge receiving a blue decepticon faction symbol on the alt mode hood instead of a purple colored decepticon faction symbol on the alt mode hood.
I wasn't a fan of the "snow" white that got used on KO high quality G-1 metroplex toy.

Not much to say about KOtoys i was interested in getting a classics white deadend and the brown breakdown figures as well as a black sideswipe for soem customising.
I disliked the 1985-87 kos due to them being commonly loww quality and they can devalue collections.
I would however be very interesed in a Reissued Fortress Maximus/scorponok with additional features. I always thought scorponok could get a LED in his tail and maybe firing missiles for FortMax.

Gundam dude my sympathies!!That must have felt like a dagger running through you super slow like. I don't mean to re-open a wound for you but that must have killed for a while...?
The first time I had to sell it hurt like hell. It was depressed for like a week. The second time not so much though. It was like "okay, need money, Brave Max has to go." I love Brave Max for it's citymode, it looks like a night skyline with the windows painted yellow the way they are. If I can ever get another one, I'd want G1 Fortress Maximus. The colors on that are just perfect in robotmode.

I had the original 1987 fort max in mib collectors type condition, then I traded it away in 1988 for about 20 harder to find 1984 thru 1986 transformers toys. back in the day, their was no ebay to find TF toys you missed out on from previous years. I started collecting TF toys 1987,so i missed out on 1984 thru 1986. In the trade I remember a few I got like 1984 optimus,1984 megatron,1986 rodimus, regular insecticons, some tripple changers, jetfire, soundwave & others I can't remember. back in 1988,the internet wasn't like it was now. the only way to buy previous years toys was to go to conventions, comic shops,garage/flea market sales or trading thru friends. or looking for a mom & dad type store that over charged & years later clearanced the toys because they were shelf/peg warmers. back in the day in the 1980's their was more mom & day type singular solo stores & less major retail stores like target,kmart,walmart,etc...
Around the year 2001,I went to image anime in manhattan & picked up a brave max for under $100. the toy was on mass reduced clearance. that's why the price was so low. after horading this toy for years,i sold it.
I don't regret trading fort max nor do i regret selling brave max. because I honestly was not in love with the toy mold. I think I only re-bought the brave max version of the mold. due to it being so "desired" & a holy grail status to the TF fan base. When I got rid of my completist way & sold off about 80% of my TF collection of stuff I dis-liked. brave max was the first thing to go.
IMHO,You've really got to love huge play sets,or garage stations or castle/fort play sets to trully love this fort/brave/grand max toy mold.
IMHO,The fort/grand/brave max toy seems like it was made/designed & accessorized for tollers as the ultimate gigantic christmas toy back in 1987/1988/2000.
I don't like how big the toy is. because no other TF toy is in scale with it.
I'm come to the conclusion, their are TF toys made for almost every TF fan. the fort/grand/brave max mold was not made for me & my desired transformers toys taste/preferences.
I'm not sad in the least i traded the 1987 fort max toy mold nor am i sad I sold the brave max toy mold. because all i did was hoarde these. I wasn't into the whole play set factor of this toy. my wish is those I traded & sold these toys toy fully play with them to the fullest extent & love play sets.

I got lucky a while back and acquired Brave Max. I doubt I'll own any of the other versions anytime soon and I like the RID colors more anyway.
I spent $200 on mine so I got very lucky.

That's about what I got him for both times and sold them for about $600. I was really lucky but it just goes to show if you have patience, you can get one at a reasonable price.

I have been known to wait for VERY long periods of time for stuff.
My patience level is incredible in this hobby.

I also have a MIB Brave Max (I like the color scheme the best as well) and I got it for $400 shipped. I splurged and bought a Grand Max Grand Sword for him. Looks awesome.

Seeing the price on him, I am so glad I bought mine from TRU in 88 for $99.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I have to be patient as i am out of work at the moment and money is tight.
I recently got out my collection and found i had more boxed than loose which was a major surprise. I do prefer boxed if i'm honest they include:
MP Prime, Megatron, starscream
Headmaster snapdragon/chromedome/skullcruncher
Galvatron/ Prime and Shockwave all 1980s boxed
Giftsets Menasor/Superion
Quickswitch (X-mas Present)
TM Hotrod/Kup and Cyclonus
My technicall expensive was Menasor as he was about £200 on EBay and I really wanted him although i wish i had kept my old one then swapped them out aw-well.
Funnily my cheapest were:
TM Hotrod got him a collection then sold the rest off
Shockwave
So I will wait and see about Fortress maximus it is possible to get him in a larger collection but only from the UK due to postage cost/handling fees.
