Any one read GI Joe: Cobra #12?

HOLY CRAP.

Spoilers ahead...

Xamot realizes his days are number if Chuckles remains in Cobra High Command. He stages a coup to incriminate Chuckles but Cobra Commander has made it very clear that Chuckles is here to stay. Cobra Commander orders Chuckles to kill Xamot. However, Chuckles shoots Cobra Commander in the face and is ready to fight Xamot to the death.

And here's a USA Today article with Mike Costa & company with a ton of spoilers and the upcoming Cobra Civil War. I love the concept that anyone can hold the title of Cobra Commander and members of the High Command are fighting for it.

I haven't read the GI Joe ongoing so I don't know how much of an impact Cobra Commander has made in the comics but he's definitely has a presence in the Cobra series. I can't wait to see how the Chuckles Trilogy ends and where this Civil War goes.

Hear, hear! Although to be honest back in the golden years (1980's) people were after CC by issue 7. I'm a bit underwhelmed that this was the big news even though Chuckles is my namesake.

I've never seen this animated version of The Silent Interlude. Pretty cool!

I would love to see the live action sequel to include this. It's one of my favorite comics of all time.

My theory? I hope they don't bring back the Cobra Commander they established in the IDW universe. Even though there were deaths in the Marvel/Devil's Due/RAH universe, characters still came back in a soap opera-ish way.

The IDW GI Joe world seems to ground itself to reality as much as a comic can so hopefully dead means dead.

I love the idea of Cobra Commander being a title that can be passed on... or fought over

Here's a thought. They tie this in with Hama's Joe book and have that Cobra Commander turn out to be the real commander all along.

I ventured out and tried GI Joe: Origins #20 & #21 by David Lapham due to a recommendation (iFanboy I think). Turns out that the current arc is a great compliment to GI Joe: Cobra where the terrorist organization recruits a man down on his luck. At this point I just realize I love reading about the bad guys. I can't wait to read the upcoming Cobra Civil War.

Actually I use that a my Croc Master, I had a spare leach for Night Adder, that fit that figure. It looked so silly I left it like that for a while.

Packing serious accessories, hell just the gun case alone is a stand-out, but Low-Lite is a pretty sweet figure. Great modern take on the character.

Thanks. For what it is, it fits the basic idea I had for the character.

I could do more, but that would be going beyond my current capabilities for now and I would hate to either wreck what i have or just add too much to the design.

Just read the Hasbro Q&A for the last quarter of 2010 and two things stuck out:

1) As a change from the previous Q&A Sgt. Slaughter will NOT be released in any form at retail. I was kinda hoping for a Slaughters Marauders box set or a Cobra/Iraqi sympathizer figure.

2) Of the canceled figures seen on the Hasbro tour ONE MIGHT be seeing release. Rumors have whittled the contenders down to City Strike Scarlett and Zarana. Wouldn't mind seeing one or the other.
