Given how Dead End was done in BT/Alternators...
...do you reckon that we're likely to see the Universe Sunstreaker put out in black with 'con symbols next year? It would be a lazy repaint (and they're already getting Sideswipe out of essentially the same mould anyway) but from what we know so far it looks like the 'bots may be getting a lot of the love in this line, 'Streaker to Dead End might provide a usefull bit of filler in a later wave. Of course if this was done Classics Prime and Mirage would be no-brainers for Motormaster and Dragstrip and there will probably be enough Autobot cars in the new line to get Wildrider and Breakdown out of (assuming that Rodimus wasn't used for Wildrider) so would anyone buy a non combining Stunticon set of Classics/Universe repaints. Having done the Seekers already Hasbro do need somewhere to go with Decepticon grunts in this line, and while repaints may not be the ideal solution it may be one possability.

I don't see why not. Hasbro are pretty keen on doing repaints in universe, so I'd be surprised if they didn't!

I'd spring for a Dead End redeco, most definitly. If they
pull of the others, combiner or no, I'd buy 'em.

No way in hell!
I never had the originals, I won't buy the originals, cos of money, the universe line has potential of bringing me those guys in a updated versions.
I won't be buying them if they are repaints of Autobots, no way I've oredy been robed of owning the seekers (don't start the botcon stuff now, I'm sick of people bashing each other over them) no way would I soport that!

Sure but wouldn't it have to be a maroon repaint as G1 Deadend was never black, that was Wildrider, which is why (as we both know and remedied) BT Deadend is all kinds of wrongness.

'Cept Wildrider wasn't black, either (he was grey). But yeah, Alt Dead End is Wildrider to me too (after a headswap with Sideswipe). And I'm trying to decide whether Rodimus would make a better Wildrider or Breakdown...

I would be happy if:
Red Alert and Sideswipe were made from the same mold
Breakdown and Sunstreaker were made from the same mold.
All were of the same make of car, plus, repainting Sunstreaker gives better chance to making a Menasor leg out of Breakdown.

I'd buy 'em.
I'd rather have one that combines though. This seems to be more like a future Botcon set, I don't see it happening out of the UNIVERSE 2 line.

You're totally in my head. I'll be buying everything in the Universe line, even if I have to go to BotCon again to do it. I have every figure in Classics, if you don't count minicons. Screw them, they weren't real classics. It's the only complete collection I have. So if the new Universe is just Classic 2.0, I'll wanna kept my collection complete. Plus I loved the old Universe line, so it's all good.

Yeah but whatIi mean in BT Deadend was closer to G1 Widrider in colour than Deadend, dark gray (not black I give you) and red windows, Deadend was maroon with black windows and neither of them had a head remotely resembling that of Sunstreaker.

True but neither of them had a head remotely resembling that of their toon counter-parts.

Be hard to be Scramble City combiners if their heads were that differentiated. We all know what happens to First Aid's head that has a bit more sculpting on it.

Didn't bug me. Why would they do that? As I said, Sideswipe's head is reasonably close to Wildrider's original - I swapped my DE head with a spare Sideswipe, repainted the face red, and he looks a treat. Although I am tempted to go back and sculpt that ridged faceplate on him...

Granted on the colours, I was thinking BinAlt homage since it was the most recent version but given the nature of Classics and the (presumed) continuation of the theme in Universe I suppose that a more G1ish homage would probably fit better.
Also just in case anyone's wondering what AK's comment in brackets was refering to I give you BT Wildrider and Sunstreaker.
