Gosh why is Voyager Ironhide's waist so small...

He's supposed to be a bulky bot! But especially because of his waist, and a bit because of his arms, he looks far from it in his Voyager figure... argh, should I get him anyways?

looks like a bodybuilder's waist to me LOL. and yeah, i'm really kinda desperate to get him, just for the sake of trying to complete my TFTM Autobot collection and move far, far away from the movie line as soon as possible. you've got no idea how much headache this line has cost me.

Ironhide is kinda hard to transform into alt-mode...

And yes, in the movie, his waist was way wider.

so far, i only have Arcee, Concept BB, and Optimus Prime. i requested my uncle in NJ to get me a Metallic Ratchet to save having doubles in my collection, and i'm waiting for Ironhide and Jazz restocks to complete my chase for this line. oh, and maybe i'll add Longarm to the mix after the last two (i had this toy MOSC but decided to sell it).

the only problem that keeps me from completing my line is that Jazz and IH are out of stock and the remaining ones are sold by scalpers/hoarders here in my country for ridiculous prices. (how about shelling 55 USD for an IH?)

Dude... now that I look at it again, Voyager Ironhide's whole waist and down is completely different from the Movie Ironhide. Even his lower legs. His feet are kind of similiar though...

His legs are supposed to look more... muscular, so as to say.

He went on the Slimfast diet!

I doubt you can find a single movie toy that looks more than maybe 60% like it's movie digital counterpart, the Movie versions just have far too much detail to be put into a toy and keep them Transformable.

The Robot Replica line was meant to solve this problem, but it failed faster than Viva Laughlin...

I dunno. Ratchet (the Best Buy exclusive) is insanely close to the movie version. Yeah some stuff is simplified but damn he looks the best out of the bunch. Besides 09 Bumblebee.

Ironhide is far to skinny, and Ratchet is far to fat.

Black is sooo slimming. Ironhide is actually really fat.

Anyway, he's still a cool bot, best of the voyagers I think.

Ratchet sucks, he doesn't even seem half as cool as his movie self. So chunky and square, his legs really screw the pooch I think. Arms and torso are somewhat acceptable.

It's funny, in the movie, Ratchet's torso spins around when he transforms, in the toy line, it's Ironhide's torso that spins around. :-?

Like i_amtrunks said, the toys never really look too similar to their movie counterparts (this goes for just about anything, 'cept Spidey).

Honestly, I think IH Voyager looks great. If you can find it, I say grab it. Especially if your collection needs him.

You can pull the back window down behind the waist and add a bit more of a bulkier look. Here are some pics of my Ironhide converted into an Alt. Trailbreaker (using reprolabels).

It is amazing how turning the head around and adding a few stickers looks so much like a G1 Trailbreaker head sculpt.

I have two Ironhide figures so that one of them can be a Trailbreaker. I can easily get Ironhide and Jazz around here.

Don't let that skinny waist fool, you, Voy IH is almost 100% awesome. The automorph on his feet is wonderful to watch, and he's pretty movie-accurate IMHO. If you've seen the movie, you may recall that 2 of his first parts that move when he tf's are his front bumper, which pivots downward, and his rear fenders, which pop outward. Just like the toy! I love that. FWIW...

I picked him up on the weekend, pretty fun toy and looks cool. Only thing I don't like about him is that he sucks to put back into alt mode. :( Otherwise, I really recommend him. The only other Voyager that I TF'd was Blackout and he's nowhere near as fun to transform as Ironhide.
