Bioshock is one of the most amazing games I have ever played on any system. The articals that have been writen about it don't do it justice, untill you have actually played either the game or demo you can not truely fathom the time and energy that went into the design of this game. There is no way to truely describe this game because each player will take a different approach to playing this game, you might play one way and your friend might play another they give you goals to work on but how you reach them is up to you.

I have to agree, I got the game Tuesday night and I must say it will definitely be up there for game of the year this year.
It is outstanding in so many ways.
Its got the action of Gears of War, the jumping out of your seat of resident evil, and the shear coolness of hell i'm not even sure what game.
The story is really well done.
The graphics are insane, and the game play is phenomenal.
How far are you into shortround? I'm at the fishery, at Neptune.

Got the same booked for the PC. It's a bit of a bargain considering alot of collectors editions I've seen over the years are rediculously overpriced for the stuff you get. I'd be willing to pay that extra fiver just for the Big Daddy statue, everything else is just a bonus!

Picked up Bioshock today. I don't think I've ever played a game where for the first 3 hours, my jaw was completely hunhinged and on the floor.
This game rocks ass.

Is it really that good? I tried the demo. It was good, but it wasn't as great as you guys make it sound.

Well the gameplay is fun.
I was really impressed by the environments. The A.I. is freakin' sweet. The plot so far is awesome as hell. The little scenes explaining what the Plasmids are, are like the old 50's advertisements, which rock.
The game seems to be a perfect mix of everything. Fun gameplay, beautiful environments, easy controls, smart enemies.

Impressive graphics and such. Aside from that its not really that appealing to me.
Watchout if your going to get the pc version Spoon, its bogged down with some really bad copy protection, similar to steam but far more restrictive. Unlike steam which lets you install the game on as many pcs as you like as long as only one pc is connected to steam at a time, the Bioshock installer keeps a record of the pcs you install it to and only allows it to be installed on 5 pcs and 5 reinstalls per pc(initailly 2 pcs and 3 reinstalls before massive complaining). Its annoying protection like this that almost makes you want to resort to piracy to avoid it.

I got it on release day, and it's bloody brilliant. Everything from the use of Plasmid powers, to the gunplay, to the Silent Hill-esque presentation is done almost flawlessly. My favorite parts so far though have been little things. Stuff like how creepy the Gatherer's Garden machines can be, especially when they talk, and the funny "Plasmids by Ryan Industries" films that play when you gain a new power. Right now, I'm in Arcadia and I've saved more Little Sisters than I've harvested.

Meh well, i'm not going to buy it anyway though.

I picked it up for the 360 on Tuesday and ended up finishing it today. It was quite a good game, the story and all the background information and everything is really well done. That and the art style are what really pulled me in (the atmosphere). Of course the combat is well done as well otherwise it wouldn't be a good game.
There's some really cool stuff that happens in the last 1/3 or so of the story...
I'm considering if I'll go through it again and try to get a different ending. This time through I played good, so maybe next time I'll put it on hard and play through evil. I could also pick up more achievements, I only got about 790 or so on this run through.

I saw a friend play the first half of this on his 360 Elite.. and I've gotta say, it got me itching for a 360. Graphically gorgous, all of the art deco environments, deeply creepy music and particularly grusome characters. Not to mention the water effects!

So...is it a Halo Killer? Has it done what KillZone tried and failed to do?
I doubt it. Halo 3 wiped the floor with ever other pre-order, and it's not coming out till September. And, as good as it is, most casual 360 gamers are too obsessed with Gears of War, Halo, and Madden.
I'd probably get the PC version, though I'm not sure if I can run it. (I only have 512MBs of RAM, and Wikipedia says it needs at least a full 1GB.)

Well you can't really compare Halo and Bioshock.
Halo is a multiplayer marvel for the console, the story is great, but when you hear people talk about Halo/2/3 you hear them talking about the Multiplayer stuff.
Bioshock is a single-player masterpiece. It doesn't have the fancy multiplayer bell and whistles, it's just a single player marvel of a game. In all honesty, if Bioshock was multiplayer, I think that would make it less of a game.

Until you get to the end.
I had the game a week, and just beat it.
What a waste, the end sucks on so many levels.

They really are two different beast (I hate Halo by the way.) but the Big draw is the Multiplayer. To all the guy who just played the DEMO it really didn't do this game justice I've played every horror game out but this is ONLY one that actually made jump (next to Friday the 13th on the NES). This. without Mass effect, Assassins Creed or Halo 3 this is definately GOTY material dont let it slip through your fingers.
My gamer tag is PHATEGODPRIME Im too lazy to put the little fancy one here.
