Reading this thread just cost me 4 minutes of my life.
Have fun with your new toy. Now don't touch it.

Wow. The air of superiority. There is nothing wrong with the Hasbro versions. They are exactly the same toy with the only difference being the paint job and the shorter stacks.
You were comfortable paying $330, a hefty premium for the figure and others may not be. You don't have to gloat over it now. Here's the thing, I paid roughly $300 total for my MP-04, MP-05, and DVD Prime. I'm not gloating about it. Well maybe a little.

sorry about me for gloating, since so many people bad mouth about how bad or sucked the dvd prime is, the one with the orange paint body. i know i might went alittle extreme, but in my opinion, people who are hardcore fans will go for the takara version or people who are less avid about it will rather pay for the inferior version, the dvd prime.

I don't think anyone is begrudging you the joy of owning the figure...but you're starting to alienate yourself here. Just because you shelled out $330 for the Takara version, I don't know if that makes you a more hardcore TF collector than anyone else--you just have a preference. I bought a Masterpiece Prime from Wal-Mart years ago for $70. But my 1000+ Transformers collection spanning 10+ different TF lines tells me I'm more hardcore than you are.
And does it matter? Not really.

again i appologize for what i've say earlier, yes everybody here except me is hardcore but not myself, because i don't have a lot of money to buy every single one of them. lately i've been thinking about buying another one, megatron. but i have to reconsider it, cuz i have to start saving money. after buying mp-05 megatron, it would be my last and final one in the collection. cuz i can't afford to buy every line of TF toys.

Goddamit, fix the Edit button someone!!! Poor Alterton is being picked on for no fault of his own.

Uh, calling people poor bastards for not buying the "correct" version of a toy seems like a good enough reason to me...

Yeah, w/e.
That puppy will be on ebay withing 2 years, guaranteed.
well.. I bought the whole shebang in a couple of weeks.. years after their release but.. you can probably consider us "sleeper" fans.
Whatever Beast-Wars killed of the "fan boy" inside me has been aroused by the announcement of the movie. And now I have the approval of the misses it's no problem to start investing in the products that I consider classy and have a lasting value (a nice BTA-01 over any purple or green snake/lizard thing.)

Nothing against sleepr fans dude. Its about some people claiming having the cash to spend on an MP Prime vs. a DVD Prime makes them a "true fan."

It all depends where you live.. if you're stuck with e-bay or auctioning sites.. you'll end up paying the same for a 20th or DVD prime compared to MP-1.

Haha, don't worry.. if you take my post, and make it not directed at you, you will see that instead of reading that "I payed a gazillion for my original MP, it's so much bettah!" it will be "hey, why did you pay so much for your MP? you can get one for almost the same prices as a 20th anniv."
I will never.. EVER spend 300 on a single transformer.
although i did spend $180 on a single 20th anniv.. and that's the best part of the €300 I spend on 3 20th aniv. primes and a hand full of alternators (including hot rod, the most expensive one of the set.)

Meh, he was offered a MP-04 for 220 shipped when he first started posting and he ignored the offer because he wanted to buy it at a B&M.
But yeah, 330 is just a stupid price considering an MP-04 sold on ebay just 2 days ago for 240.

hey Bonger, i don't mind you laugh at my stupidity to buy something expensive but can buy it cheaper for the samething. i just don't like to buy **** from a standalone merchant. i like to buy my **** from a legit store online or around my neighborhood. you see paying over a hundred bucks from ebay, and most of the time they're scam artists. if you see something really cheap like 100 bucks for mp-04, and other online stores are selling it 300 or 500 bucks. then you will rather pay something extra just to feel safe. that's my 2 cent.
p.s i admit for the last 2 months i found out that there's masterpiece line for the transformer toys, since it was out since last year september. cuz i have a life and a very busy college student who have no time browsing online to buy stuff.
and the whole movie experience captured my interest on the toys all over again.
