Help needed with selling transformers!

I have boxes full of different transformers

Mainly beast wars (with some beast machines), Armada (with alot of minicons), and Energon, I want rid of them all, most are in played with but good condition, with the odd few having a slight customization, with metallic marker pens. Some are missing some parts, and I think a couple have minor broken parts, I'm just wondering whats the best way to sell them, I know the answer will probably be ebay, and to sell them as like three seperate lots for each transformer catagory, but ebay's a pain, and I simply don't have cardboard boxes to send them off to buyers, I also don't have the knowledge with how to do it as i've only ever bought off of ebay 8-}

I'm thinking would it be worth taking out the bigger ones (such as unicron and omega supreme) and selling them seperately.

I also have a big collection of Marvel Legends with some BAF figures, but Alot of them are customized so they won't be worth much.

But has anyone got any suggestions on another way to sell some toys? Any help is much appreciated!

I think ebay is the best way to sell off your transformers. They have a good help section and free customer support help chat. They are awesome. No matter how small or big the issue or concern is they are always ready to help out. Plus paypal is a secure way to get money.

As for boxes? U.S. postal service gives out free boxes for priority mail. You can pick these up at the local post office or order them free at usps.com, For bigger, heavier items, Recycle boxes you've gotten in the mail or bought something in so you can send them parcel post to save the buyer money and get a better profit margin.

If you do sell on ebay you should always include delivery confirmation and insurance to protect yourself as a seller under ebay buyer protection policy. You can add this on the handling charges when listing your item so you cam pass it off to the buyer. This is all covered in the help section.

Give accurate descriptions and take good photos. Use photobucket. If you there are missing parts, scuffs, paint chipping, or added paint marks you put in. Say so. Take pictures of it. Don't hide anything. Be honest with the buyer and their questions.

Sell some small cheap things first to get a hang of selling. You can rack up some feedback fast this way and boost your confidence. After getting 10 positive feedback i would move on to bigger more expensive items.

You'll have to put in some effort but I think its worth it. I hope all this information helps.

I'll try and remember as many as I can for you, although I don't have as many beast machines ones as I used to.

Beast machines - cheetor, scavenger, jetstorm (smaller one), tankor (show accurate small one), mirage (minus gun from the head and without missiles), optimus primal (small blue one), A cobra maximal (think its quickstrike but not sure)

Energon - megatron (leader), Megatron (voyager, but green guns broke), optimus (leader), optimus (deluxe), landmine, rodimus, prowl, hot shot (yellow and silver, yellow's windshield broke off), ironhide, strongarm, ultra magnus, shockblast, ravage, divebomb, scorponok, downshift, bulkhead (blue gun attatchment broke), inferno, tow line, cliffjumper, omega supreme, Alpha Q, starscream, snow cat, demolishor (dump truck), cruelock, sharkticon, sledge, duststorm.

i also found a couple of alternators and like 3 RID's as well, and the reissue of G1 starscream and ultra magnus.

And to DaiShanPrime

I'm sorry I didn't mention this, but i'm from the U.K but i'm sure the post office here will also do free boxes or something similar. Will any cardboard box do basically, as long as there are no holes, basically no words (other then the address) and it can be taped closed?

Thanks for all your help though, I might just try and sell a couple of figures first, and that way if anything does go wrong I wont have lost much, and i'll be able to learn from it for the second time round :P

Yes, but make sure the boxes aren't too big and pack the item well inside the box with bubble wrap. Empty spaces you can fill in with foam peanuts( best but you might have to spend money for that) or paper (Not a good shock absorber but cheap). You'll have to decided about that. But definitely bubble wrap. After you pack the item, it should not bounce around inside the box. If it does. You need to fill up those empty spaces.

About taping, depends how heavy the item is. More heavy means more tape to reinforce the seams. You don't want the box opening up and dropping the item during transit.

Bottom line. Pack and box the item the way you would, if you were sending it to yourself. If you were the buyer, would you be satisfied?

Go to your local post office and tell them what you are doing and ask for advice. I'm sure they'll help you out.

Good luck.

P.S. You know anything about this Blue Box that's bigger on the inside? Sonic Screwdriver? Oh well that's a topic for another forum ;)

Where abouts in the UK are you from? if you wanted we could work something out where Ebay doesnt come into it haha :P well the towline's gun broke at the end, and the autobot symbols missing, landmines fine, and the cobra thing, i think its in good condition but because of its age its a bit loose, and price wise, i don't know, i wouldn't say much, about £10 for the lot, it depends on where you live and how much postage would cost with it as well? haha

ah plymouth, i live in warrington, in the north west, inbetween liverpool and manchester, i went on the royal mail website to get a rough estimate on how much postage would cost and it says about £4.09 for a recorded (signed for) first class stamp if it all comes upto about 1KG, i'll have to weigh them all together once i get a box, bubble wrap and the foam peanuts though.
