I got mine today from BBTS and love him.
He is just a bit brighter purple than I expected.

Now I have him set up as "Cyclonus" and the Universe one as "his Armada".

Hell I think I will just call the Universe one Armada

..

About Nightstick, I actually prefer the Hasbro one especially since his silver face looks better (IMHO that is). All that chrome is ok but not necessary for me.

Bah.. Im quite jealous of those of you who have managed to pick up Cyclonus.. Henkei or Universe.. I'd be happy with either! :\ alas, I went to my local TrU yesterday and all they had was a crap-load of Animated Safeguards and an equal amount of Universe Acid Storms.. which is bad comedy..

I'm still waiting for Universe Cyclonus to show up at retail, but I went ahead and got Henkei.

IMO it looks a lot better in robot mode than Universe, but in spaceship mode, it's a little hard to take seriously.

I can attest to the brightness of his purple hue. It's a really beautiful colour, and some damn nice plastic. Sometimes I mistake him for one of my Animated figures.

It's a weird combination. All that pink and purple, and yet he's the single most baddass TF I've got.

I got mine today as well and came to the same naming arrangement as soon as I removed Henkei Cyclonus from his package.

Just a thought for ya'll:
The only place I've managed to find Universe Cyclonus is WalMart.
My TRU and Target haven't had him thus far. They do have plenty of Animated Safeguards though.
So, check a WalMart if you can, and good luck!

Another thing I like is how his arms seem to snap into the sides of the body more securely and lock into place better than the Hasbro version.

My wife raved over his color too.

I'm actually really glad I bought one of each with this figure...
Normally it's all or nothing for me when it comes to Henkei and how I like to buy 2 of each figure.
I regret not getting 2 Henkei Ironhides now, but I'm good with this last decision for Cyclonus.

For those of you that can't find him yet, be patient; I've seen him in all of the retailers I frequent-- Target, Walmart, and TrU.

I wish I could find Inferno!!!!

Technically he can hold two at the same time.. I believe if you rotate the fists back into their vehicle mode positions.. you can peg Nightstick into the rectangular slot.

As for why he's only got one fist hole, I've no idea..

He may be lilac, but he manages to pull it off fairly well. And hey his legs are not two shades of grey!

After having Henkei Cyclonus for two weeks, I have become very fond of his color. It has grown on me. And like others have mentioned, his color is more uniform than Universe Cyclonus.

Takara has a Cyclonus exclusive planned for their new collector's club. So if you don't like the color, then perhaps wait to see what will be released in a few months.

I received mine the other night and finall set him up with my 2 Universe versions. Overall, despite being REALLY bright, I like him a lot, especially in contrast to the darker Universe versions.

I took some pictures to post on my thread about Cyclonus and his Armada but here's a preview shot.

Now all I need is Strafe to finish this mold off.

I prefer the darker colour scheme but which is more G1 accurate? The Henkei seems way too lilac to be right.

When you say polished, do you mean the mechanics function better than Hasbro's version?

I do not have the Henkei version, yet, so I can not attest to the figure. I do however think Hasbro's is more Cartoon accurate, but still right on.

This picture shows how his animation model was more of a blue-ish purple instead of a darker violet purple which was used.

What I find interesting, and you should look it up also, is the Henkei color scheme appeared multiple times in the Marvel Comics. Mabey Takara wasn't going for toon accuracy this time, but rather comic...

The Henkei version is definitely a hybrid of the Cartoon version, definitely leaning more toward the comic color scheme, while Universe is clearly going for the G1 toy scheme.

I think by polished, all the joints are good and tight, the chrome seems really well done, and the paint/plastic colors are very smooth and well applied.

I love the pictures. I wonder if the Cyclonus Henkei exclusive will be Armada repaints.
