How do mistake transformer toys for the power rangers toys

Postby shortround » Mon Sep 24, 2007 1:35 am

I was a toy r us and I asked one of the people on the floor do you have any new deluxe movie transformers toys. She says sure we do and takes me to the power rangers toys and says there you go. I wanted to say something to her but I bit my tongue and waited for her to leave then went and found them on my own. They didn't have anything anyway. But can you image a parent who doesn't know a transformer form a doorbell. Seeing the power rangers toys and think she or he is doing there kid a favor by getting them one.

WOW, and the package says in BOLD letters, POWER RANGERS or TRANSFORMERS. Too bad some forum members make the same mistakes here too.

Yeah, but the difference is the users here find them loose and aren't sure what they are. I didn't know better, I'd probably wonder too.

But yeah, that's pretty retarded, especially when there's hugeass signage on the toys.

Hah, reminds me of the time I went into a liqour store and asked where they kept their Oregon Pinots.

I was led directly top the box wine section. :HEADHURTS:

I'm afraid 'Transformer' means Transforming robot to your average guy on the street or shop assistant. Power Rangers toys DO look like Transformers! The example posted could easily be mistaken for Armada Tidal Wave or Energon Omega Supreme for christsake! No matter how many people went to see the movie all Transformers will ever be to most of them are robots that transform into crap. Besides the movie did very little to portray them as anything else.

Not all IQ's are created equal, so there may be a little of that in the mix.

Also, some people just don't care enough to take a close enough look ... like maybe reading the package.

As for employees, think of TRU in particular. ALL OF THOSE TOYS!!! Nobody can get em all memorized. My guess is that employees that have been there a LONG time may get good at inventory, but who works at a place like that for a few years?

I see new people working at my local TRU all of the time.

However, another TRU that I frequent ... the guy knows everything about ALL toys. At least it seems that way. He has hooked me up with some classics figures that he had stashed away in the back room. He wasn't allowed to shelve them, but he busted a few out for me.

Back to the topic ... I mean, what would you get if a woman sent you to the supermarket for maxi pads? Chances are ... you wouldn't get what was ideal for her. Maybe she's a panti-liner kinda gal? :-?

It amuses me to see how many people incorrectly list Power Ranger toys as Transformers on ebay as well.

Some Power Rangers figures do look like Transformers, so it isn't that hard a mistake to make. Sure it's annoying as heck, but, you cant expect everyone to know about Transformers, and the differences between it, and other toylines with robots in it.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

which sells more, power rangers or transformers? I know my co-worker's son loves power rangers.

The Wal-Mart near me puts dozens of orange power ranger figures in the aisle for movie deluxe Transformers. I should have taken a picture. I don't blame them as the aisle has been barren for weeks - might as well put something there.

The only good power rangers toy is the mega zord from 1993. Man that thing kicked all kinds of ass. It's really outdated now, they should MP it.

Aw, I loved that zord!!! I still remember opening that one Christmas years gone by...

An MP one would be great, I think I could get my dad to buy it for me, :P "Dad, c'mon, that zord was a huge part of my childhood! This is a wonderful recreation of it. It would be like a huge walk down memory lane!" :P

If I had to guess power rangers out sell transformers because they have a built in life cycle. Big sibling watch the show then little sibling start watching the show with big sibling and so on and so on so you have generation after generation watching this show and after they out grow power rangers they start up with transformers I guess. So who can say for sure although it would be intersting to find out.
