how much is your entire collection worth?

throughout the years of collecting( 5 or 10 years)
would you say that you had spend over a thousand or tens of thousands of dollars for your entire transformers collection?
btw have you ever lie to your spouses about the money you've spent so far in the collection? finally, do you ever hide your new purchased figures in drawers so your wives won't find out about them?

I think if a TF collector had to do that, they married the wrong woman.

Hiding new bots in a drawer so that a spouse wont see them is humiliating and indicative of a bigger issue.

If I knew of a fellow TF collector that actually did this, I would tell him to grow some balls.

On topic though, my collection is coming up on the $10,000 range. Comparitively, I still say collecting transformers is an inexpensive hobby. I have about 600 bots for that money.

I'd say the investment has been about $400. Alot of my handydown G1 stuff is in good shape.

I base the value of my collection on what I paid for each figure. I have a collection of 500 figures and I've paid about $7200.00 over time for the figures that I own.

I don't hide any figures from my wife. She's not stupid and to hide figures would simply be insulting her intelligence. Plus she has fully supported my hobby (including dropping the bomb of money for the recent 2K7 Botcon set), so I say why should I even hide anything from her?
