I've been eyeing this for a while. My main reservation is the fact that this mold does not allow for a train mode, but overall it looks pretty decent. Keep in mind I do not have the original toy this is repainted from.

G1 Astrotrain...my first Transformer when I was a kid. I wish a reissue would have that anime like purple grey color in bot mode. Sadly, no.

if you already own armada jetfire then it isn't worth the money since it is just a repaint of him. But if you don't and you like armada jetfire then by all means go for it.

it is very much worth it, the paint apps alone put the original mold deco to shame. The minicons that come with the box set are also great.

The Astrotrain mold also comes with a remolded G1 esque head that is also an improvement.

I you had to choose between Astrotrain and Jetfire, Astro gets my vote.

There is the ehobby 'catalogue colours' version, but good luck finding one and expect to pay a serious price for it.

Back on the topic of the Club Astrotrain though, I managed to grab one from ebay a while ago for a ridiculously good price. Nice representation of the character, great colours (even the yellow works somehow) and overall an improvement on the original Armada releases plus given Astrotrain's role as a transport then this toy towering over the Armada deluxes doesn't hurt at all. The large moulded faction symbol down the back of the robot mode/uperside of the shuttle mould might be a little offputting to some and if Hasbro had ever done a Nemesis version of the full sized Armada Prime rather than just the deluxe then that would add some to the play value, but overall recommended. If you only want one version of the mould then Astrotrain wins out over either version of Jetfire.

Not quite.

Astrotrain has an entirely new head. He also comes with exclusive mini-con repaints from the Giant Planet team.

Astrotrain is totally worth it. He's a very imposing figure and wears the design better than A-Jetfire.

I already have the classics as well a G1, thanks for all the input. I joined the TFCC earlier in the year so I could get in on the convention exclusives. I went ahead and bought the three club figures as well, unfortunetly I had joined to late to get Breakaway for free. I figued I'm gonna get the 2008 figure for free I might as well have the whole set. I'm off to go order Astrotrain, I have no interest in Airazor though.

Oh yeah, Club Astrotrain is worth every penny. He's one of my favorite toys in a couple of years. I like A-Jetfire also, but this is so much better.

TFCC Astrotrain arrived today, and I must say I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I had no idea he was so large, and I love the suttle mode.
